I started Klonopin 1 mg last night replacing my Xanax. I did not sleep at all and this morning am in worse panic than I have been. It seems like it is causing me to have more anxiety. Has anyone else had this experience?
Does Klonopin cause anyone else more anxiety?

After still having anxiety this morning I cut one in half and took 0.5mg. For some reason that dosage knocked me out. I guess I just need to find a dose that works for me. Maybe 0.25mg in day and 0.5mg at night. It's weird that the stronger dose made me more anxious?

Yes it can cause more anxiety especially if you don't have the right equivalence of the klonopin to the xanax. How many milligrams xanax were you taking? Once the klonopin gets in your system good you will start feeling better as it is a longer acting benzo. It doesn't take long, only about a few hours to a couple of days, not weeks, unless of course the equivalence is off.
1 mg xanax at bed. Now 1mg klonopin at bed and .5 in the day
It's equal so you should start feeling better soon once your body gets use to the klonopin as the xanax you felt right away which klon takes awhile to build up. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Thank you.
You're welcome :) ... take care and be safe!
Oceanrain?? Lol

Where did you go? Don't tell me that you are going to allow a new member insult you by disagreeing with you on a public Forum, and then just give in?
I was way out of line for Oceanrain to do what she did. She is new and has to learn how things work here, and a dose of professionalism wouldn't hurt, either.
You were giving your opinion, and that's what this forum is all about.
Your remarks are important and worthwhile. I would hate to see you just cave.
I have read many of your answers, and they are all sound advice. You are important to this site. Your ranking backs this up.
David ~ we all have opinions so what was wrong with me giving my opinion?

There was nothing wrong with your comment besides the way you told her that she was wrong. It's just not proper etiquette to tell another poster off.
You could have just posted your opinion without mentioning anyone's name, telling her that she was wrong, and you were right.
We can only give our answers/opinions on a given subject without calling someone out by name. That's all I meant.
I didn't say if you were wrong or right. I didn't say that ballbanese was wrong or right. I only suggested that name's of posters that you disagree with should not be mentioned by name. The comment I made to her was intended to keep her in the conversation, and not run from your disagreement.
The equivalence is the same for Klonopin and Xanax. Xanax has a more immediate calming effect, and as very short half life.
Yes, this is common. Give it 2-3 weeks to settle down. Also if the switch was abrupt it'll add to this effect.
Dearballbanese this is my first time ater a year to come thañk u
8m afraid 5o ask questions but you made me feel safe thank you
Thanks for responding
My body does respond oddly to medications. Pain meds make me hyper, thyroid meds make me sleep, Nyquil keep me up, sleep meds keep me up. Xanax did help me fall asleep though. I'll adjust and if not I'll change
@jenjen14: You are very welcome. Anytime, I'm here to help.
You are used to having a benzo that works faster and "puts you to sleep". Klonopin will calm you all the time, however you don't have that effect at the first pill.
Thank you for your input
Yes klonopin will keep you calm and Xanax will knock my Ass out that's what it does to me I know everyone is different I'm new here love seeing everyone helping others like me out
