... up with a swollen gum and obvious swelling by the area (now I have a chip-munk cheek) and not much feeling other than numbness in the area. Is this temporary? I'm sure I applied way too much Orajel in a short period of time (bad toothe ache), but I've stopped using it now. Will feeling return and swelling go away by itself?
I've been using Orajel on my gum/toothe for 3 days. After the third day I woke?

The 1st and second day I used Orajel I had no problems and it actually worked great. It only until I over did it that I woke up this morning with this problem. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
Added 29 June 2011:well my original problem was that my filling fell out, and the pain from that came and went. Now the only pain/problem I feel is the numbness of the orajel and the swelling it caused. My toothe isn't bothering me but I know it still needs to be looked at. My dentist appt is friday, looks like pills and ice packs till then unless anyone has any better ideas? I appreciate your response(s), still looking for any ideas to bring down the swelling or fight the effects of orajel.

Do you still have toothache? It sounds as though you have a tooth abscess. You should see your dentist. You may need to have the abscess drained and a course of antibiotics and pain killers prescribed.
