How long can I expect side effects from Reclast to last?

I have bad osteoporosis. To answer your question, I would estimate my side effects last close to the full year or the duration of the drug. I received an IV of Reclast May 26, 2023. May 27th, the next day, I became dizzy and fell down but I didn't hurt myself, thank goodness. That dizziness lasted all day for the first 8-10, then came in multiple episodes during every day, and that lasted until mid October 2023 (4 1/2 months). I was afraid to drive, I couldn't stand on my feet for more than 20-30 minutes +/- without experiencing a very dizzy episode, so Reclast ruined my life for 4 1/2 months. Then the drug began to taper off ... maybe 1 or 2 dizzy episodes every other day or two the last part of Oct and all of Nov. Then in December I had almost no episodes. In Jan '24 they returned and I experienced dizzy episodes but they didn't last long, just 4-5 seconds every couple of days. Same dizziness for February and March. Now it is April 6, 2024, and I still have periodic dizzy spells but they don't last long and they occur once or twice per week. I will not take this drug again but my OB-Gyn said another patient of his took Reclast and the side effects also lasted the full year. The side effects are worst the first 4-5 months then gradually taper off.

Hello, I did some reading up on reclast and the way I understand it, they usually diminish after being on the drug for awhile. I'd mention it to your doctor if the effects persist for any long period of time. Best wishes,
