About 5 weeks ago I started feeling anxiety and panic attacks. My doctor prescribed Lexapro 10mg. I feel like I am slight doing better but now I am waking up crying and and detached from the world and everyone I love and this is causing me to cry. I don’t know if this medication is working or to give it some time? I just feel like this is not reality.
Should I give it some more time or go back to my doctor?

Hi, Jansy!
If you're feeling somewhat better it means the medication has begun to work but it's kind of a "roller coaster" with your feelings as your metabolism adjusts to the drug. It can take 4-8 weeks for Lexapro to become fully effective but if you're having these side effects you should let your doctor know what's going on with you right away.
Maybe it is just a matter of time but it could be that a dosage adjustment might help your system adjust more smoothly.
Definitely talk to your doctor and get their professional advice.
Best regards and I hope you're feeling better quickly.
