Has anyone taken and benefited from my generic version of Wellbutrin XL (named in title)? I'm crossing my fingers to hear encouraging stories...
Thanks so much in advance!

Personally, this generic manufacturer did not work well for me. I had been on a generic from a different manufacturer (Cipla) for almost a year and it worked out wonderfully for me. About 3 weeks into my refill with Yichang Humanwell (distributed by Slate Run), I had terrible brain fog and my symptoms started returning. Not all manufacturers will work for everyone. There have also been other generics manufacturers that have been pulled from the market for lack of bioequivalence (ineffectiveness), compared with the name brand Wellbutrin. My pharmacy no longer carried Cipla, so I tried the one from Actavis (Teva) and that has worked out well - just as effective as the Cipla generic. I've heard mixed reviews about Par Pharmaceuticals as well. My pharmacist said he has a high number of complaints from them. Bottom line, if you're not noticing any significant changes, talk to your doctor, it could be the manufacturer.
You're right in that different manufacturers use different inert ingredients as fillers, binders, coloring agents, etc. These are thought to sometimes affect absorption of the drug itself in some individuals or affect sensitivities to the substances used.
If you have time to do the research you can Google "Slate Run bupropion inert ingredients" or whatever manufacturer names you want to know about. You can find the generic that most closely resembles the brand name Wellbutrin's ingredients and that may work better for you.
WELLBUTRIN
" Inactive ingredients: ethylcellulose, glyceryl behenate, methacrylic acid copolymer dispersion, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, povidone, silicon dioxide, and triethyl citrate."
Hi, PoppyTroll!
This one I can answer from my own personal experience! I've taken bupropion YH 101 XL which is the Slate Run Pharma generic version of the discontinued name brand Wellbutrin for about four years now and it's been everything I hoped it would be. I do also take the YH 102 150mg XL tablets as I'm highly resistant to medications and usually need the maximum dosages.
I needed an atypical antidepressant and was started on bupropion to treat depressive episodes of Bipolar disorder and also Seasonal Affective Disorder/Anxiety. It's been a wonder drug for me and I hope it works as well for you.
