My doctor tests for benzodiazepans and all kinds of stuff and was just wondering if it would show up as this or not?

Gabapentin has an elimination half-life of 5 to 7 hours. Half life is the time it takes for your body to reduce blood levels by half.
It takes around 5.5 x elimination half lives for a medicine to be excreted from ones system. Therefore gabapentin will be cleared from your system by approximately 38.5 hours (5.5 x 7 hours).
Other factors to consider:
1. How much and how often you have taken the drug.
2. Your metabolic rate – a slower metabolism will increase the time a drug remains in your system.
3. Your age and health – older age and poor health will generally increase the time the drug stays in your system.
4. Body mass – generally the bigger you are the longer a drug will remain in your system.
Gabapentin is not a controlled drug so they probably wont test for it on most drug screens.
But did you check if it was water our grease soluble, and what about, whatweretheyinEnglish, the breaking products of the original drug (on some drugs many of them are active also) - because many drugs are tested by looking these things that the drug breaks in to inside you???
2018 it is a controlled drug
Zena513: Where did you hear it is a controlled substance? It is not. At least, not here in Florida. What state are you in, if I may ask? As a matter of fact, it is one of the very few drugs allowed by our drug courts here. Can't even take a Benadryl if testing for drug court.
So I'm curious... where is it a controlled substance?
I tested positive at 7 days. Seems like it has a lot to do with the amount ingested. Good luck to anyone reading this.
I am not sure how long it stays in your system but it is a lot longer than people are saying! I failed a urine screen 6 days after taking gabapentin.
It will show up in a drug screen now that DR's are testing for it due to abuse of the drug, even though it is not a narcotic! You should be OK the amount of time it takes to get out of your system is 32 hours
I took 4 600mg gabapentin on Thursday and on Monday it was still showing up in my urine so I am not sure how long it takes to get out of your system but it was still in my system 5 days later.
I did not receive an answer to my question.
Is Neurontin a benzo
no absolutely not. i'm on two right now been on almost every one usually anything ending in pam diazepam alprazolam triazolam,
etc,
most doctors won't or wouldn't bother testing for it. relax
No, and to the other person's comment, chlorodiazipoxide (librium) is also a benzodiazepine.
I think Gabapentin can show for a false positive for benzos, but like 95% of the time, this isn't the case.
They act on the same Neurotransmitter (GABA) but have different mechanisms of action. Gabapentin acts on increasing GABA indirectly via voltage-gated calcium channels, and Benzos bind to the Benzodiazepine receptors/GABA A receptors
Some people say that they it stay in your system like 24 hours, but that isn't correct. I took one Monday tested Wensday and there was a faint trace. So I'd say 72 hours.
As long as you have prescription for it there should be no problem!
No
Needed to know thank
Just writing if anyone else would need info about this. It depends. where I live, they screen for gabapentine and I had tried it one summer, on October 31st, they found gabapentine in my system, I told them I've only tried once but it been months.. they said it can last up to 3 months. I asked around to see if it does it others, I've only been told it leaves they're system in 3-5 days. So I read about it. It's our kidneys, I guess mine is a slow worker flushing stuff out of my system, but I am healthy .. so just gotta be aware in can last in your system longer than others.
There is absolutely no reason for them to even care about it. Its not a controlled drug and won't be tested for in a drug screen.
my doctor tests for benzodiazapans will it show up as this in it?
Thank you
January of last year they passed it as a controlled substance in my state ( Kentucky)
I live in Kentucky where gabapentin is now a schedule 1 medicine. It is included in any test by my pain management doctor.
Gabapentin is a controlled drug.
It shows up on my drug tests.
