Ive got a colostomy, and I think i have a fecal impaction so i went to the ER yesterday and they gave me a fleet enema and got nothing but gas out.. that can't be good right?
Ok, I have IBS with constipation since age 13. Early September, few weeks ago, my husband had to take me to ER because pain was so bad. They did what's known as an m and m enema on me, had never heard of it. (It is molasses and milk, slightly warmed, in a baggie, then a tube used to INSERT IGNORE INTO me, held it for 7-8 minutes. It worked... not sure if this is recommended for at home but I may try it.
what type of enema did you use??? i found that FLEET MINERAL OIL enemas worked best for me ,SALINE enemas werent as effective .
Also if you dont retain the enema for at least 5 to 7 minutes it wont work as well either
