Benzodiazepines like Valium can stay in the system for a long time. It depends on how much you take and for how long. Also your health, age, weight and metabolic rate play a part.
How long a drug stays in your system depends mainly on it's elimination half life.
For Valium (diazepam) the initial distribution phase is followed by a prolonged terminal elimination phase (half-life up to 48 hours). The terminal elimination half-life of the active metabolite N-desmethyldiazepam is, on average, 100 hours.
So you would actually have to account for the elimination of N-desmethyldiazepam.
It takes 5.5 x elimination half lives (hours) for a medicine to be cleared from your system, therefore Valium or it's active metabolite will be in your system for 550 hours (5.5 x 100hrs) i.e. approximately 23 days.

Valium is mainly for anxiety an panic attacks not headaches? If you have a bad headache or if it's a reoccurring problem see your Family doctor he can prescribe you something for migraines. Marijuana has a lot of medicinal uses if it's legal in your state or province an it helps you with your headaches get a prescription but try Tylenol or something else over the counter you
don't need a prescription or something illegal to get rid of a headache.

I took about 50mg of valium four days in a row. Im normal weight and 60 years old. I flooded myself with water for 48 hours prior to the ua. Approx 2 gallons per day.after 14 days it showed positive. Did the same thing at 17 days and it was clean

People have been given VAlium for migraines and pain. I am in pain management and know this for a fact, I was given Valium for back pain, and was told they prescribe it for different types of pain and migraines was listed. I take offense to the guy that said take Tylenol. I hope he starts having Migraines and see how well Tylenol works for him. His comment was just rude!

Actually 50mg of Benadryl is VERY effective on getting rid of bad headaches/migraines. I understand why some people take valium tho for a bad headache. Bc it relaxes the muscles in your head. And when you get a bad it its from muscles contracting (righting and releasing)

Beware I took a 10mg valium for the dentist on the 29th of october... and I had a drug screen the 17 of Nov. The 24th Nov and the 1st December and they ALL WERE POSITIVE FOR BENZODIAZEPAM!!! THAT'S RIGHT 33 FCKN DAYS LATER!!! I had Corona virus at this time in between... and have been dehydrated... so... be alert!!! I only took 1 for a procedure... ONE 10MG DOSE!!! I do not take these daily or even as needed!!!

I had metabolites show up in my system 3 weeks later. However I was given a decent dose in the hospital for 5 days. Every 8 hours, 5 mg.

Depends on the amount takin.. Everyone's different the more you take the longer takes for the metabolites to clear your system and show up on urinalysis.I have had it show up 3 weeks later I also take 10mg. Best advise if worried flood your system with water that's your best chance . Diazepam has a long half life.

Just in case anyone wants to know I took one 5 mg Valium on the 3rd of March and when I went back to the doctor on the 2nd of April it was out of my system. I don't normally take Valium but I took that one dealing with my dad's death. Not sure when exactly it cleared my system but it was out 29 days later.

It could take a while depending on the amount that you take, The weird thing about Benzos is they have a half life like Uranium, just not nearly as long. I would say from what you took you should be okay in about a week or so.
