I have used Symbicort and Spiriva both for about 4 years now for my COPD and I definitely think I got more result from the Spiriva
I have used both. I found that Spiriva alleviated my shallow breathing but left me wired and raised my blood pressure . I decided to go back to Symbicort with less side effects for me. I know several people on Spiriva and they did just fine with it,
Symbicort has caused blood bruises on my arms, it makes my back hurt, and I have body pain. I use a rescue inhaler I use, but I think I may need my Sprivia, at times... I do feel better since I stopped Symbicort. No more body aches and pains...
I started out on Spriva but it didn't help me much so I was given Symbicort which has helped tremendously. I was told I could continue on Spirva also but I don't like taking any more meds than absolutely necessary.
like many others here, I take both Symbicort and spiriva. I have had no problems with either, and I think I am well managed.
I was diagnosed with COPD in 2002 I have been taking Spiriva and Symbicort since then, and I am convinced that Spiriva helps me the best, also Symbicort reacts with my blood pressure medicine which is Diovan HCT.
I have moderate COPD and found that Advair worked better for me than Spriva. My doctor gave me samples of Spriva to try twice but I didn't find any improvement over Advair. My doctor did say that most patients did find Spriva to be helpful.
This is just a comment but I am on both symbicort and spriva and have not needed bricanyl for my COPD.
hey, my husband has been on Spiriva for about 5 years and it has worked wonders for him, also i'm proud of him cause he quit smoking after 30 years so i know that helped to. good luck, shirl621
Well my father was diagnosed in February with COPD and immediatly started taking Spriva. I personally think it has done wonders. He gets around a lot better & can breath a lot better. Before he could hardly move without having a coughing attack & needing to sit down. When I picked up his prescripiton for this the pharmacist told me he has heard nothing but great responses about Spriva.
I have had COPD since 1997 and I'm on both Spiriva and Symbicort I use Albuterol as my rescue inhaler. I've done real well and don't have alot of breathing problems.
