Hello, I have been on the generic celexa 20mg for a year and couldnt lose weight. I started on 150mg of Wellbutrin for 10 days while weaning off Celexa. Im done celexa and went to 300 mg wellbutrin. I have had 2 panic attacks and feel antsy and nervous and angry. Can I get back on the celexa10mg and take wellbutrin 150mg at the same time. Wellbutrin helps with energy. Celexa was good for anxiety. I took 150mg of wellbutrin today along with 10mg of celexa I had left over and I feel so much better. No panics

The best thing to do is communicate the effects and side-effects with your health care professional, your prognosis is completely a trial and error of drug combinations and psychotherapy.
It is safe to take both medications, I currently take 20mg of celexa and 300mg of Wellbutrin - however, what works for me may not work for you, pharmaceuticals have different effects on everyone.

I was started on 10 moved to 20 then 40mg of celexa for a little over a year I did have a lose of appetite staying on 40mg doc added 37mg of wellbutrin and taking 37 mg of concetra as well omgezz nice I was like super woman I felt really well had energy was happy I have depression adhd ppmd and the whole nine I've tried to get off celexa twice it made me crazy mean as hell and stayed in a rage back on 10mg and I feel like shit depressed no energy and my moods are down I would like to know how you got off celexa did you have any side effects winging off? As I'm reading what you are describing might be the withdrawals of winging off celexa I went through the same issues coming off of celexa I hope ithis helps you one of my doc is thinking about adding on abilify for me because even though I'm taking a lot already its still not enough my depression is just that bad oh is there a reason why u got off celexa in the first place?

Hi I was having some withdrawls from the celexa but I have always had panic attack issues... so I beleive it is somehting that I need. My energy is better now with the boost from Wellbutrin and my appetite has decreased as well. I have gotten of paxil and zoloft so I know how you feel but I believe that I am a lifer when it comes to anxiety meds and with the concerta the wellbutrin tripped me out.

Hello Melissalives. Its not recommended to mix Bupropion (Wellbutrin) and Citalopram (Celexa) There are higher risks such as a seizure, possibility of for example. Unless its closely monitered by your doctor who feels the positive(s) outweigh the risk factors. Regards pledge

Hi there are many people on this mix and actually higher doses. The wellbutrin made me anxious and the celexa calms you down a bit. My dr. approved the 150mg wellbutrin and 10mg celexa. I already feel better.They both work in different ways. I was tired on the celexa alone and the wellbutrin gives a little boost. Look it up on the internet and u will c many people combine this. Thx for ur input tho. :)

I also, started Wellbutrin along with Celexa prescribed by my doctor. Wellbutrin was 150mg but up'd a dose to 300 mg, and Celexa from 10mg to now 20 mg... when I was just taking 10mg of Celexa, I didn't feel any bad side effects but feeing tired, but now that I am now on 20 mg at night for two nights so far and i feel palpitations, like 20 minutes after taking the dose. I also feel a little nervous and I guess right now I could be thinking a lot, because ive been reading up to see if anyone feels as I do, but I think I will go back to 10mg, but the Wellbutrin I feel like kind of a boost and not so tired in the morning, like I can actually get up and clean my house and do a normal daily activity without being overly tired or sleepy.
If anyone feels the same when taking Celexa please feel free to reply.

Talk to your doctor before using buPROPion together with citalopram. Combining these medications may increase the risk of seizures, which may occur rarely with either medication. In addition, buPROPion can increase the blood levels of citalopram, which may increase other side effects. You may be more likely to experience seizures with these medications if you are elderly, undergoing alcohol or drug withdrawal, have a history of seizures, or have a condition affecting the central nervous system such as a brain tumor or head trauma. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol during treatment.
