Flexeril / Cyclobenzaprine can be split. It doesn't come in an extended release format, so you don't have to worry about any special casing or layers. I'm not a doctor though, and you'll want to notify your doc of the change in dosage. I always found Flexeril to be way way to powerful for me as well. I would use a serrated knife to "score" it first before trying to break it in half, but as Jeff k suggested, speak to you doctor first. I',ve been taking cyclobenzaprine for quite a few years now, but only take it at bedtime. When I, rarely, take it during the day, it helps a little but doesn't really cause any difficulty. But everyone responds differently.
