Good morning everyone. I have a Question for you. I'm badly ADHD. I even tried going without my meds for it for about three days. Then the brain chatter started. So I knew I needed to take my Adderral. When the brain chatter, as I call it, started, I was trying to sleep. I took the med and it all went away and I slept for about 5 hours. Does this happen to anyone else? That your ADD/ADHD drug helps you sleep better? Thank you!

Hi, this is quite normal, drugs used to treat ADHD will 'calm' and 'relax' the user. So improved sleep is expected. Can you explain more about the "brain chatter"?
Great, thanks Delila! Sure, I can try to go deeper into the "Brain Chatter". Hmmmm... I tried verbally to explain this to my Dad yesterday. For one thing I am also Schizoaffective Depressive Type, and have had my share of hearing voices. This is nothing like that. I guess maybe very chaotic in my mind, a thought will hit me, and then I'll bounce to another thought. Also really annoying music repeating in my head. When I take the adderral, it shuts everything up so my mind is Silent. I hope this makes more sense to you, and I'm still not certain if I explained it right. Hearing voices to me is nothing like these Symptoms. If you would like anymore info hon, just let me know! Much thanks!
Oh yeah definitely!! I have ADD and constantly have songs playing over and over in my mind!! Also conversations, or things i've seen/heard on the TV. I'm so glad you've written that : )) I was worried that you were having unrealised symptoms of another nature.
Hi, I've never heard anyone say they have songs playing over and over in their head but sometimes I have that happen and never associated it with ADHD. Sometimes things just come to me and replay in mind. Is this an ADHD symptom?
Hi! Yes it can be, but can also be indicative of other diagnoses. What is your experience?
The brain chatter and annoying music are all too familiar to me. I started taking dextro three days ago, after 33 years of dealing with a three ring circus for a brain, I'm still amazed at the serenity.
Hammerform, that is great news! Luckily, i have had my medications adjusted since writing this post, and i also have been relieved from most of the 'mind singing' etc : )
