My dr. Recently prescribed me to take1/2 of a 25 mg pill of Zoloft because I have a fear of pills. I suffer anxiety/depression and daily panic attacks. I have been taking .5 of an Ativan morning noon and night to help me with the side effects from Zoloft and to calm my panic attacks becuase I still have to work. I commute and I feel like the Ativan isn't helping at all. I don't know what to do becuase I think I need more but have to drive an hour to work everyday. I am a male 200 pounds. What does anyone suggest ? When will these panic attack subside ? How much Ativan should I take ?
How much Ativan should I take with my Zoloft? Please help!!?

You say the doctor just started the Zoloft and a very low dose which is okay and well slowly increase it to help more with panic and anxiety attacks,Part could be that for the first week or two the Zoloft when you first go on it gives off some side effects then they go away but it take 6 weeks to reach the blood level in your system to work the best. But as far as the Ativan goes you do not want to take any more than what the doctor has prescribed until you talk with the doctor and get his or her okay to increase.I would say call the doctor and tell them your having increased anxiety and need a stronger dose of Ativan until at least the Zoloft starts to work. But make sure you get the doctors ok first thing well get better but also your size and that small amout of Zoloft is not going to do much at this point. If you want to get better you have to learn to forget about your medication phobia would you rather deal with the panic attacks ask the doctor when you should up the dose on the Zoloft you have to find the one that is going to work for you.Life does get much better once they get all of this under control..Now please give your doctor a call before the weekend shows up. let us know how your doing
Hi! I just recently was prescribed 25 ml of sertraline once a day. I have been on it 5 days now. However, the anxiety and panic attacks have become bad. I was previously on lorazepam .5 and took as needed which kept my anxiety at bay. Is it safe to take the lorazepam with the sertraline?
I am sorry you are not feeling well. I can relate to your situation as I also have anxiety, panic attacks and depression. I took 200 mg of zoloft for depression for years and it is a safe drug with no major side effects.
I also take 3 mg of ativan for panic attacks and it does really help. Have you talked to your doctor about increasing your dose of ativan from .5 three times a day to 1 mg three times a day? If not please call him and let him know that the .5 mg is not working for you.
Hope you are feeling better soon and let us know how you are doing.
Thank u for your response. I haven't talked to my dr about going up on the Ativan becuase I'm worried 1 mg will be too strong for me to drive on. I have to drive to work daily an hour out. So I feel stuck like there's not an option
