I keep seeing everyone saying they take it 2 or 3 times a day to start. My doctor prescribed 10mg once a day. I'm confused.
Is anyone else taking buspirone once a day?

Hello! Although buspirone is traditionally prescribed to be taken in divided daily doses your doctor may be looking for a dose that's effective while avoiding any potential side effects. If you need it the dosage can be increased at 5mg per day every few days, but try giving it a few weeks at your current dose to see if it will control your symptoms.

Indigestion, muscle stiffness. And because I'm only taking 10mg once a day I feel it wears off and I start to feel out of sorts in the evening until I eat something.

Those side effects are not uncommon and usually resolve within a few days to a week or two so you should be feeling better soon.

She split my dose to 5mg twice a day. We will see how it goes. It really messes with my stomach. It's been a week now, but she said give it another week and let her know. It seems to be gradually getting better.

Also, with the lower dosage hopefully that can only help with the symptoms.

Fingers crossed! Try ginger ale or tea, soda crackers, yogurt, small bland meals may help.
