Can buspirone help improve my sleep? I can't turn my worries off at night and when I do fall asleep, I don't stay asleep for very long. I do have ambien but, try not to take it very often.

Hi Julu61! I find that a combination of the buspirone and melatonin at night helps me sleep soundly. And if I’m sleeping soundly, the ruminating thoughts won’t bother me! :). I recently increased my dosage from 5 mg to 10 mg 2x/day and had some insomnia, so I increased the melatonin also from 3 mg to 6 mg. I was afraid to add an evening dose, but I did for the first time last night (5 mg) and but it helped me sleep better. So far so good! Blessings on your healing journey.
Hi, Julu!
I've been taking buspirone for a couple of years and it works for me... I sleep very well because my thoughts aren't always racing. It helps with daytime anxiety too which was the cause of my insomnia.
Thank you
Hi,
I have bad anxiety and I take a lot of anxiety meds but I take 60 mg. of Buspirone a day, 30 in the morning and 30 at night. The morning dose makes me very dizzy and woozy. I'm trying to lower my dose slowly, and spread out my morning dose throughout the day. But yes, it does help. It relaxes you.
