Hi, i am so sorry that no one has answered your question! I assume by now you are feeling fine? There have been research studies in the past, giving small treatment groups 50mg doses to see if there was any significant difference in their condition. many couldn't tolerate the dose, whereas some found that they benefit from it (short term). Conclusion, taking 40mg as a one off dose won't cause you any imminent or lasting harm, but it is still important to notify your doctor or on-call physician so they can advise you about symptoms to look out for, and anything of concern, you must be treated.
