So I accidentally just chugged some vodka forgetting that I took a 500mg of metronidazole this afternoon around 4. Does anyone know if this is life threatening or not?! It's 8:13 so it's been 4 hours since o took the pill. What should I expect?!
I accidentally drank alcohol on one 500mg dose of metronidazole. What will happen?!?

I kinda got drunk while using this antibiotic it was an accident, I had a cup of lemonade and beside mine my aunt has a cup of vodka mixed with lime rita and i thought it was mine when i drank it I didn’t taste any alcohol and I started to feel it and I was like omg . I was on the 2nd day of my antibiotic lastnight and I’m expecting sickness according to what i’m reading but that was 11pm 8 hours later It’s 7:23 and I feel fine but i’m scared that i’m gonna be sick soon because of what i’m reading .

Hi, hoping that you are feeling OK and that you didn't experience a bad interaction? It can vary, some people can get away with having a drink whilst taking this medication, however, the warning is not to drink at all, as even the smallest amount could make you feel very ill. I would be interested to find out how you are now?

I thought I was oddly hung over and beyond mind blown because I didn't drink "that" much. I really didn't. Three beers and 1 captain and coke. I just thought maybe I am just getting older (I will be 40 in January. Yikes) . I rarely drink these days, but I still drink enough to not be feeling like I was literally dying. So I'm lame, but" that" lame. Yet:)
Anywho, my point... I woke up to literally almost choking on my vomit and got sick on the hour, for 3 hours straight. Had to attend calling hours for my father in law that day. Reason for the drinks the prior evening... Tribute band, family, and celebration of life. Long story short, as I write this... I once again feel the nauseating effects. My husband and I sat down together this evening and enjoyed a glass of wine, as it was the first moment we had together to sit. He just lost his father and we just had one glass and sat quietly together. Well, two hours later, it hit me.
Along with the realization, I am not that old. I am just, "that" stupid! How did I not think, to look at the label, for the medication I had just started taking a few days prior?! On top of the stress, exhaustion, an empty stomach and the alcoholic drinks... My poor body, is experiencing all the worst flues symptoms, combined, at the same time. Yeah me!
