She has been ok'd to take up to 3 mg. I don't know that much about melatonin
My 5 year old just took 4 mg of melatonin. Do I need to take her to the er?

It wont hurt her. Just keep an eye on her. She will likely be drowsy.

There is little or no evidence of any major toxicities with melatonin, even at high doses.
