Zepbound (tirzepatide) is a prescription medicine used to help lose weight and maintain weight loss.

It is FDA-approved for weight loss in adults who are obese or adults who are overweight and have weight-related medical problems such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, or cardiovascular disease.

This medicine helps you lose weight by decreasing your appetite and making you feel full more quickly and for a longer time.

It should be combined with diet and increased physical activity.

Zepbound is a once-weekly injection given under the skin using a pre-filled single-dose pen.

Common side effects include abdominal pain, burping, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, tiredness, acid reflux, hair loss, allergic reactions, injection site reactions, feeling sick, and vomiting.

Serious side effects may occur including allergic reactions and pancreatitis. This is not a complete list of side effects, and others may occur.

The active ingredient, tirzepatide, is a GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist, it is the same active ingredient as the diabetic injection Mounjaro.
