Neomycin Sulfate Soluble Powder Indications

Chickens/Turkeys: As an aid in prevention and treatment of infections caused by neomycin-susceptible microorganisms such as bacterial enteritis and enteritis associated with chronic respiratory disease (CRD).

Turkeys: As an aid in prevention and treatment of infections caused by neomycin-susceptible microorganisms such as Bluecomb and transmissible enteritis.

Swine, Cattle, Sheep and Horses: As an aid in prevention and treatment of infections caused by neomycin-susceptible microorganisms such as bacterial enteritis (scours).

Warnings

Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 30 days in cattle; 14 days in sheep; 14 days in swine; 14 days in laying hens; 14 days in turkeys; 7 days in broiler chickens after the latest treatment with this drug. This product must not be used in lactating dairy cattle nor administered to horses that are to be slaughtered for use in food.

When handling the product, avoid inhalation, oral exposure and direct contact with skin or eyes.

Storage

Store between 15°C and 30°C. Close partially used containers tightly following use to protect from light and moisture.

Dosage and Administration: To reduce the development of antimicrobial resistance and maintain effectiveness, use this antibiotic prudently. Prepare fresh solutions daily. Add 100 g of Neomycin Sulfate Soluble Powder to the appropriate volume of drinking water indicated below. For automatic proportioners, set to meter at the rate of 1 mL to 100 mL water (1:100).

For treatment, administer as below. If no improvement is seen after 5 days of treatment, the diagnosis should be re-evaluated. For prevention, administer medication as per the indicated dosage for no longer than 5 days. Provide as the sole source of drinking water.
