HOW TO APPLY

APPLY AS A SPACE SPRAY ONLY. Space application is a suspension of fine droplets (0.1 to 100 μm) in the air within an indoor space.

To kill houseflies, horn flies, stable flies, horse flies, and mosquitoes: Before using as a space spray in structures with livestock, remove all livestock with, exception of poultry, from area to be treated. Dilute 1 part of Doktor Doom Professional 3% Pyrethrin Knockdown Farm Buildings Insect Killer in 29 parts of water to give a 0.10% concentration of pyrethrins. Close all windows and doors and shut off all ventilating systems and sources of ignition before treatment. Apply using a space sprayer (fogger) such as Fogmaster or ULV equipment adjusted to deliver an extremely fine spray (droplets 15 to 25 μm in diameter) at the rate of 60ml of diluted solution per 30m3 of space. Direct the fog upward to all parts of the room, especially ceiling, upper corners of the room, windows and other light sources and not directly towards poultry. When using handheld equipment, begin application at far side of the room and work backwards toward exit. Vacate the treated area and keep windows and doors closed for 10-15 minutes before ventilating. For ventilation and re-entry requirements, see “Use Limitations” (above). After the re-entry interval has passed, clean up dead insects. Spray only when temperature is under 32°C. For best performance, the spray solution should be in the pH range of 5.5 to 7.0.

PRECAUTIONS

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF UNAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL.

Causes eye injury. DO NOT get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. If entering treated areas prior to venting or before 2 hour re-entry interval after application using a mechanically- pressurized handheld sprayer for mists, aerosols, and fogs (droplet sizes 0.1-100 μm) or stationary fogger, and for application using a mechanically-pressurized handheld sprayer for mists, aerosols, and fogs, wear goggles or safety glasses chemical-resistant coveralls with a chemical- resistant hood over long-sleeved shirt, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves, socks, chemical- resistant footwear and a respirator with a NIOSH-approved organic-vapour-removing cartridge with a prefilter approved for pesticides OR a NIOSH-approved canister approved for pesticides. For mixing and loading, and application using all other application equipment, wear goggles or safety glasses, a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves, socks and shoes during mixing, loading, application, clean-up and repair. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.

DO NOT handle more than 0.92 L of undiluted product per person, per day when using a mechanically- pressurized handheld sprayer for mists, aerosols, and fogs (droplet size 0.1-100 μm). These restrictions are in place to minimize exposure to individual applicators. Application may need to be performed over multiple days or using multiple applicators. DO NOT contaminate water by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes.

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT

For resistance management, Doktor Doom Professional 3% Pyrethrin Knockdown Farm Buildings Insect Killer contains a Group 3 insecticide. Any insect population may contain individuals naturally resistant to Doktor Doom Professional 3% Pyrethrin Knockdown Farm Buildings Insect Killer and other Group 3 insecticides. The resistant individuals may dominate the insect population if this group of insecticides is used repeatedly in the same locations. Other resistance mechanisms that are not linked to site of action but are specific for individual chemicals, such as enhanced metabolism, may also exist. Appropriate resistance-management strategies should be followed. To delay insecticide resistance:

● Where possible, rotate the use of Doktor Doom Professional 3% Pyrethrin Knockdown Farm Buildings Insect Killer or other Group 3 insecticides with different groups that control the same pests in the location to be treated.

● Use tank mixtures with insecticides from a different group that is effective on the target pest when such use is permitted.

● Insecticide use should be based on an IPM program that includes scouting and record keeping, and considers cultural, biological and other chemical control practices.

● Monitor treated pest populations for resistance development.

● Contact your local extension specialist or certified crop advisors for any additional pesticide resistance-management and/or IPM recommendations for the specific site and pest problems in your area.

For further information or to report suspected resistance contact Ultrasol Industries.
