Circumvent PCV Indications

For use in healthy swine, 3 weeks of age or older, as an aid in the prevention of viremia and as an aid in the reduction of virus shedding caused by porcine circovirus type 2. Duration of immunity has been demonstrated to be at least 21 weeks following administration of the booster dose.

DOSE: Shake well. Inject a 2 mL dose intramuscularly into healthy pigs, 3 weeks of age or older, using aseptic technique. Inject a 2 mL booster dose 3 weeks later. Animals retained for breeding should be given a booster dose semiannually.

CAUTIONS: Store at 2°-7°C (35°-45°F). Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened; do not save partial contents. Dispose of containers and all unused vaccine according to local biohazardous waste disposal regulations. Use only in healthy swine. Do not vaccinate within 21 days of slaughter. Local injection site reactions may occur. If allergic reaction occurs, treat with epinephrine. Extreme caution should be used when injecting oil emulsion vaccines to avoid self-injection since it can cause serious local reaction. Consult a physician immediately if accidental injection occurs. PRESERVATIVES: Gentamicin and thimerosal.
