TYPE B MEDICATED FEED

A calf supplement to be mixed with dry non-medicated milk replacer powder to make a complete medicated Type C milk replacer ration for calves and beef and non-lactating dairy cattle.

For the treatment of bacterial enteritis caused by Escherichia coli and bacterial pneumonia (shipping fever complex) caused by Pasteurella multocida susceptible to oxytetracycline; Also for the treatment and control of colibacillosis (bacterial enteritis) caused by Escherichia coli susceptible to neomycin.

Federal law restricts medicated feed containing this veterinary feed directive (VFD) drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

INGREDIENTS

Dried whey, dried skimmed milk, sodium silico aluminate, calcium carbonate, artificial flavor, iron proteinate, vitamin E supplement, choline chloride, magnesium sulfate, zinc proteinate, selenium yeast, brewer’s dried yeast, DL-methionine, manganese proteinate, vitamin A supplement, copper proteinate, vitamin D3 supplement, calcium iodate, ascorbic acid, cobalt proteinate, maltodextrin, niacin supplement, calcium pantothenate, vitamin B12 supplement, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of vitamin K activity), thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin supplement, folic acid, pyridoxine hydrochloride, biotin.

Important: Follow mixing and feeding directions.

MIXING AND FEEDING DIRECTIONS

Blend the entire contents of this bag (4.34 lbs.) of Scours and Pneumonia Treatment Concentrate powder into 50 pounds of dry non-medicated calf milk replacer powder to make a Type C medicated milk replacer (complete ration) containing 1000 mg Oxytetracycline and 1000 mg Neomycin per 1.25 pounds of medicated milk replacer powder.

Feed the resulting Type C medicated milk replacer powder as a complete ration by mixing powder into warm water (115-120°F) as directed below. Feed to provide 1000 mg of oxytetracycline and 1000 mg of neomycin base for each 100 pounds of calf body weight daily. Feed the medicated milk replacer in place of normal calf milk replacer continuously for 7 to 14 days.

Blend the entire contents of this pail (20 lbs.) of Scours and Pneumonia Treatment Concentrate powder into 230 pounds (equivalent to 4.34 pounds into 50 lbs) of dry non-medicated calf milk replacer powder to make a Type C medicated milk replacer (complete ration) containing 1,000 mg Oxytetracycline and 1,000 mg Neomycin per 1.25 pounds of medicated milk replacer powder.

Blend the entire contents of this bag (50 lbs.) of Scours and Pneumonia Treatment Concentrate powder into 575 pounds (equivalent to 4.34 pounds into 50 lbs) of dry non-medicated calf milk replacer powder to make a Type C medicated milk replacer (complete ration) containing 1,000 mg Oxytetracycline and 1,000 mg Neomycin per 1.25 pounds of medicated milk replacer powder.

Feed the resulting Type C medicated milk replacer powder as a complete ration by mixing 10 ounces of powder into 2 quarts (1/2 gallon) of warm water (115-120°F). Feeding 2 quarts of medicated milk replacer solution twice daily provides 1,000 mg of oxytetracycline and 1,000 mg of neomycin base for each 100 lbs of calf body weight daily. Feed the medicated milk replacer in place of normal calf milk replacer continuously for 7 to 14 days.

OFFER FRESH WATER AT ALL TIMES.

If symptoms persist after feeding the medicated milk replacer for 2 or 3 days, consult a veterinarian. Continue feeding the medicated calf milk replacer for 24 to 48 hours after the remission of disease symptoms.

WARNING

Withdraw 5 days before slaughter. A withdrawal period has not been established for use in pre-ruminating calves. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal. A milk discard time has not been established for use in lactating dairy cattle. Do not use in female dairy cattle 20 months of age or older. When used in milk replacers, the treatment claim is limited to bacterial enteritis cause by Escherichia coli only. Use of more than one product containing neomycin or failure to follow withdrawal times may result in illegal drug residues.
