AVL Electrolyte Powder HE Indications

AVL Electrolyte Powder HE is a water additive-electrolyte powder for use as an aid in the treatment and prevention of dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, acidosis and as a supplementary nutrient source for new born calves with diarrhea. AVL Electrolyte Powder HE is designed for maximum absorption following oral administration.

Dosage and Administration

Dissolve 185 g (1 measuring cup) in two (2) litres of warm water (37°C) and administer entire volume per calf by bottle or stomach tube. Repeat treatment two (2) or three (3) times daily or as necessary. AVL Electrolyte Powder HE electrolyte solution does not interfere with milk digestion and can be given to suckling calves and to calves that are being hand fed milk. When reconstituted as directed, the solution provides approximately:

*When metabolized, is equal to 80 mEq/L bicarbonate.

Shake well before using. Discard solution if not used within 24 hours.

Contraindication: Do not use in cases of upper gastro-intestinal obstruction or in moribund animals.

AVL Electrolyte Powder HE Caution

If no improvement is seen within the first 48 to 72 hours, consult a veterinarian.

Storage

Store between 15°C - 25°C. Protect from moisture. Keep tightly closed.
