Treatment of Impotence

This guide is intended to help men find a treatment for E.D. that is right for them.

Before we get started, there are a few things to keep in mind

  • Many healthy men can develop problems with erections. However, impotence can sometimes be a sign of a serious underlying medical condition, such as diabetes, heart disease, or a hormone imbalance. Any man who develops new impotence deserves a medical evaluation before starting treatment.

  • Not all men with impotence need to take a drug to fix their problem. For example, some men develop impotence as side effect from a medication that they are taking for a different medical condition. Stopping that medication may improve their symptoms.

  • Men who develop impotence mainly for psychological reasons may still respond to drug treatment of their impotence. However, counseling may be a better long term fix for their problem.
