Sore Throat in Children

Your child's sore throat may be caused by irritation from mucous dripping down the back of the throat (postnasal drip). This is often seen with the common cold or other viral infections of the upper airways (nose, mouth and throat). Call your doctor if your child's symptoms last more than seven days or begin to worsen.
