Risk of Iron Deficiency in Children
Your doctor may want to test for iron deficiency.
Make sure your child is getting iron from non-meat sources, such as whole grains, dried beans, dried fruits, and dark leafy vegetables. If your child eats eggs, egg yolks can be another source of iron.
In addition, a daily multivitamin with iron may be a good idea; you should discuss this with your doctor.
