Symptom Checker

Step 4: Read and complete the decision guide to learn more about your symptoms.

Headaches in Children

Headaches are common with illnesses, such as the common cold and other viral illnesses that children frequently get. It is also seen with sinusitis, and sometimes with allergies.

Acetaminophen or ibuprofen may help your child feel better. Follow the package dosing directions carefully -- if you're not sure how much to give, check with your doctor. Plenty of rest and fluids are a good idea as well.

If any of the symptoms are worsening, or if your child isn't better within 2-3 days, call your doctor.
