Foot Pain
When both feet are involved, infection becomes much less likely. However, osteoarthritis (which usually causes bony enlargement) or rheumatoid arthritis (which may cause spongy joint swelling), or a related form of arthritis could explain your symptoms. Unless you have been instructed not to do so, try acetaminophen or an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medicine (such as ibuprofen or naproxen).
