Stool cards (fecal occult blood tests) can be completed quickly at home.

Flexible sigmoidoscopy requires less preparation and takes less time to complete than tests such as colonoscopy or barium enema.

Keep in mind that abnormal results from stool cards or flexible sigmoidoscopy will usually require follow-up testing with colonoscopy.
