Applies to brompheniramine/carbetapentane/phenylephrine: oral liquid, oral suspension, oral suspension extended release.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking brompheniramine / carbetapentane / phenylephrine: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop using this medicine and call your doctor at once if you have:

• painful or difficult urination;

• little or no urinating;

• chest tightness, pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest;

• seizure (convulsions);

• pale or yellowed skin, dark colored urine; or

• sudden weakness or ill feeling, fever, red or swollen gums, easy bruising, unusual bleeding.

Common side effects may include:

• drowsiness, dizziness;

• nausea, constipation, diarrhea;

• dryness of the nose, mouth, or throat;

• blurred vision; or

• feeling restless or excited.

General adverse events

General side effects have included chills and excessive perspiration.^[Ref]

Nervous system

Nervous system side effects have included headache, sedation, sleepiness, dizziness, disturbed coordination, fatigue, confusion, restlessness, excitation, nervousness, tremor, irritability, insomnia, euphoria, paresthesias, vertigo, tinnitus, acute, neuritis and convulsions.^[Ref]

Ocular

Ocular side effects have included blurred vision and diplopia.^[Ref]

Gastrointestinal

Gastrointestinal side effects have included epigastric distress, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation.^[Ref]
