Along with its needed effects, mebrofenin (the active ingredient contained in Choletec) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Applies to mebrofenin: intravenous powder for injection.

Dermatologic

Rare (less than 0.1%): Urticaria, rash[Ref]

Gastrointestinal

Rare (less than 0.1%): Nausea[Ref]

Other

Rare (less than 0.1%): Chills

Frequency not reported: Death[Ref]
