Serious side effects of Cholecalciferol
Along with its needed effects, cholecalciferol may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking cholecalciferol:
Incidence not known
- Cough
- difficulty swallowing
- dizziness
- fast heartbeat
- hives or itching
- puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
- skin rash
- tightness in the chest
- unusual tiredness or weakness

Metabolic
Metabolic side effects have included hypercalcemia.[Ref]
Renal
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Hypercalciuria[Ref]
Dermatologic
Rare (less than 0.1%): Pruritus, rash, urticaria[Ref]
Hypersensitivity
Frequency not reported: Hypersensitivity reactions such as angioedema or laryngeal edema[Ref]
Gastrointestinal
Frequency not reported: Nausea, vomiting[Ref]
