Serious side effects of Airsupra
Along with its needed effects, albuterol/budesonide may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking albuterol / budesonide:
Less common side effects
- sore mouth or tongue
- white patches in the mouth or on the tongue

- anxiety
- blindness
- blistering, burning, crusting, dryness, or flaking of the skin
- blurred vision
- body aches or pain
- change in vision
- chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
- chills
- confusion
- cough
- darkening of the skin
- decreased urine
- decreased vision
- diarrhea
- difficulty swallowing
- dizziness
- drowsiness
- dry mouth
- dryness or soreness of the throat
- earache
- extra heartbeats
- eye pain
- fainting
- fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
- fever
- flushing
- fracture
- general feeling of discomfort or illness
- headache
- headache, severe and throbbing
- hives, itching, skin rash
- increased thirst
- irritability
- itching, scaling, severe redness, soreness, or swelling of the skin
- joint pain
- large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
- loss of appetite
- loss of vision
- mood changes
- muscle aches, pains, or cramps
- nausea
- nervousness
- noisy breathing
- numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
- pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
- pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
- pounding in the ears
- puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, or lips
- redness or swelling in the ear
- restlessness
- seizures
- shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
- shivering
- sneezing
- sore throat
- stomach pain or cramps
- stuffy or runny nose
- sweating
- tearing
- tender, swollen glands in the neck
- throat tightness
- trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
- trouble breathing
- trouble in swallowing
- trouble sitting still
- trouble sleeping
- unusual tiredness or weakness
- voice changes
- vomiting
Other side effects of Airsupra
Some side effects of albuterol / budesonide may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.
Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
Incidence not known
- acid or sour stomach
- belching
- bone pain
- bruising
- change in taste bad unusual or unpleasant (after) taste
- difficulty in moving
- excessive muscle tone
- heartburn
- indigestion
- joint pain
- large, flat, blue, or purplish patches in the skin
- muscle stiffness, tension, or tightness
- stomach discomfort or upset
- swollen joints
- weight gain

General adverse events
The most common adverse reactions with a frequency of 1% or greater were headache, oral candidiasis, cough, and dysphonia.[Ref]
Cardiovascular
- Postmarketing reports: Arrhythmia, extrasystole, hypertension, myocardial ischemia, palpitation, peripheral vasodilatation, syncope, tachycardia, tremor[Ref]
Arrhythmias included atrial fibrillation and supraventricular tachycardia.[Ref]
Dermatologic
- Postmarketing reports: Ecchymosis, skin bruising[Ref]
Endocrine
- Postmarketing reports: Glucocorticosteroid effect[Ref]
Glucocorticosteroid effect included hypofunction of the adrenal gland and reduction of growth rate.[Ref]
Gastrointestinal
- Common (1% to 10%): Oral candidiasis
- Postmarketing reports: Diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting[Ref]
Oral candidiasis also included those reactions reported under the preferred term oropharyngeal candidiasis.[Ref]
Immunologic
- Postmarketing reports: Delayed hypersensitivity reaction, immediate hypersensitivity reaction[Ref]
Immediate and delayed hypersensitivity reaction included anaphylactic reaction, angioedema, bronchospasm, rash, contact dermatitis and urticaria.[Ref]
Metabolic
- Postmarketing reports: Hypokalemia, metabolic acidosis[Ref]
Musculoskeletal
- Postmarketing reports: Arthralgia, asthenia, fracture, hypertonia, musculoskeletal pain, muscle cramps, myalgia[Ref]
Nervous system
- Common (1% to 10%): Headache
- Postmarketing reports: Central nervous system stimulation, dizziness, hyperactivity, insomnia, migraine, psychiatric symptoms, taste perversion[Ref]
Psychiatric symptoms included psychosis, depression, aggressive reactions, irritability, nervousness, restlessness, behavioral disturbances, and anxiety.[Ref]
Ocular
- Postmarketing reports: Cataracts, glaucoma, increased intraocular pressure[Ref]
Other
- Postmarketing reports: Fever, gastroenteritis, laryngitis, nasopharyngitis, otitis media, pharyngitis, respiratory tract infection, sinusitis, weight gain[Ref]
Respiratory
- Common (1% to 10%): Cough, dysphonia
- Postmarketing reports: Rhinitis, nasal congestion, throat irritation, oropharyngeal edema, upper respiratory inflammation, drying or irritation of the oropharynx, flu syndrome[Ref]
