Benefit should outweigh risk
US FDA pregnancy category: Not assigned
Risk Summary: There is insufficient information on use in pregnant women to inform a drug associated risk of adverse developmental outcomes; studies in pregnant rats have not shown maternal or embryofetal toxicities.
Intramuscular administration of doses up to 12 times the maximum recommended human dose (MRHD) once daily during organogenesis did not show maternal or embryofetal toxicities. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
US FDA pregnancy category Not Assigned: The US FDA has amended the pregnancy labeling rule for prescription drug products to require labeling that includes a summary of risk, a discussion of the data supporting that summary, and relevant information to help health care providers make prescribing decisions and counsel women about the use of drugs during pregnancy.
