Most patients get relief from constipation in about 1 week after taking Linzess (linaclotide) daily. Studies showed that patients with IBS-C experienced symptom relief in about 1 week, including stomach pain, discomfort, and bloating. Symptoms continued to improve over 12 weeks during treatment.

Linzess works differently for everyone, and the time it takes to work can vary based on individual factors and the severity of constipation. If you do not notice improvement in your symptoms after 1 week of taking Linzess, contact your healthcare provider.
