Smallpox vaccine may interfere with the response to mumps skin test antigen and lead to false-negative test results. Mumps skin test antigen may be given before or at the same time as smallpox vaccine. However, a person who has been vaccinated with smallpox vaccine may need to wait at least four weeks before getting tested with mumps skin test antigen. It is important to tell the doctor about all other medications being used, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to the doctor.
