Drug Interactions between aspirin / caffeine / dihydrocodeine and Seroquel

Using narcotic pain or cough medications together with other medications that also cause central nervous system depression such as QUEtiapine can lead to serious side effects including respiratory distress, coma, and even death. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications. Do not drink alcohol or self-medicate with these medications without your doctor's approval, and do not exceed the doses or frequency and duration of use prescribed by your doctor. Also, because these medications may cause dizziness, drowsiness, difficulty concentrating, and impairment in judgment, reaction speed and motor coordination, you should avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how they affect you.

Severe complications may include intestinal obstruction, fecal impaction, or other serious and even life-threatening injuries to the bowel that may require hospitalization or surgery. You should maintain adequate hydration, physical activity, and fiber intake during treatment with these medications to help prevent constipation. Talk to your healthcare provider to see if taking a laxative prophylactically may be appropriate for you. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs and symptoms of constipation such as difficulty passing stool, incomplete passage of stool, hard or dry stool, and decreased bowel movement frequency (especially if less than three times a week), or if you have symptoms that could indicate more serious gastrointestinal problems such as nausea, vomiting, bloating, and abdominal pain or swelling. Prompt treatment with appropriate laxatives and other measures are essential to minimize the risk of complications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
