Guanethidine / Hydrochlorothiazide Dosage
Applies to the following strengths: 10 mg-25 mg

Usual Adult Dose for Hypertension
Initial dose: 1 tablet orally once a day. Determine dosage by individual titration.
Maintenance dose: May increase to 2 tablets orally once a day.
Renal Dose Adjustments
Hydrochlorothiazide is generally not effective in patients with creatine clearance less than 25 mL/min. Thiazide diuretics should be used with caution in patients with severe renal disease.
Liver Dose Adjustments
Thiazide diuretics should be used with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
Dose Adjustments
Dosage adjustments may occur every 2 to 3 weeks.

If further blood pressure control is indicated, additional doses of guanethidine or other nondiuretic antihypertensive agents should be considered.
