Usual Adult Dose for Dyspepsia
Calcium carbonate 550 mg-magnesium hydroxide 110 mg chewable tablets: 2 to 4 tablets orally as needed for symptoms or as directed
- Maximum dose: 12 tablets/day
Calcium carbonate 550 mg-magnesium hydroxide 110 mg/5 mL oral liquid: 10 to 20 mL orally once, as needed for symptoms or as directed
- Maximum dose: 60 mL/day
Calcium carbonate 675 mg-magnesium hydroxide 135 mg chewable tablets: 2 to 4 tablets orally as needed for symptoms or as directed
- Maximum dose: 10 tablets/day
Calcium carbonate 700 mg-magnesium hydroxide 300 mg chewable tablets: 2 to 4 tablets orally as needed after meals, at bedtime, or as directed
- Maximum dose: 8 tablets/day
Calcium carbonate 1000 mg-magnesium hydroxide 200 mg chewable tablets: 2 to 3 tablets orally as needed for symptoms or as directed
- Maximum dose: 7 tablets/day
Calcium carbonate 1000 mg-magnesium hydroxide 200 mg/5 mL oral liquid: 10 to 15 mL orally as needed for symptoms or as directed
- Maximum dose: 35 mL/day
Calcium carbonate 1300 mg-magnesium hydroxide 235 mg chewable tablets: 2 to 3 tablets orally as needed for symptoms or as directed
- Maximum dose: 5 tablets/day
Duration of therapy: Up to 2 weeks
Comment: Patients should shake oral liquid formulations prior to measuring the dose.

- Relief of acid indigestion, heartburn, or sour stomach
- Relief of upset stomach associated with acid indigestion, heartburn, or sour stomach
