Usual Adult Dose for Production of Miosis
0.5 to 2 mL should be instilled into the anterior chamber before or after securing one or more sutures.
Comments:
- Any anatomical hindrance to miosis should be released to permit the desired effect of the drug.
- In cataract surgery, this drug should be used only after delivery of the lens.
Uses:
- Obtaining miosis of the iris in seconds after delivery of the lens in cataract surgery
- Penetrating keratoplasty, iridectomy and other anterior segment surgery where rapid miosis may be required

Administration advice:
- Instillation should be gentle and parallel to the iris face and tangential to pupil border.
- The solution should be prepared immediately before use.
- If the solution is not clear and colorless, it should not be used.
- Any unused solution should be discarded.

- Do not freeze.
