The use of teprotumumab may increase blood glucose levels. Care should be exercised when using this agent in patients with preexisting diabetes or impaired glucose tolerance and they should have appropriate glycemic control prior to initiating treatment. It is recommended to monitor patients for elevated blood glucose and symptoms of hyperglycemia and to manage patients according to clinical guidelines.
Teprotumumab (applies to Tepezza) IBD
Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Inflammatory Bowel Disease
The use of teprotumumab may cause an exacerbation of preexisting inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Care should be exercised when using this agent in patients with IBD. It is recommended to monitor patients for flare of disease and to consider treatment discontinuation if IBD exacerbation is suspected.
