There are 7 disease interactions with carboprost.
- Cardiovascular dysfunction
- Hepatic dysfunction
- Pulmonary dysfunction
- Renal dysfunction
- Anemia
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy
Carboprost (applies to carboprost) cardiovascular dysfunction
Major Potential Hazard, High plausibility. Applicable conditions: Ischemic Heart Disease, Hypertension, Hypotension, History - Myocardial Infarction
The use of carboprost is contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled or acute cardiovascular dysfunction. Carboprost induces contraction of smooth muscle, including smooth muscle of the vascular system. Therapy with carboprost should be administered cautiously in patients with a history of cardiovascular dysfunction including a history of hypo or hypertension.
Carboprost (applies to carboprost) hepatic dysfunction
Major Potential Hazard, High plausibility. Applicable conditions: Liver Disease
The use of carboprost is contraindicated in patients with active hepatic disorders. Carboprost is metabolized by the liver. The serum concentration of carboprost may be increased and the half-life prolonged in patients with active hepatic impairment. Therapy with carboprost should be administered cautiously in patients with a history of hepatic dysfunction.
Carboprost (applies to carboprost) pulmonary dysfunction
Major Potential Hazard, High plausibility. Applicable conditions: Pulmonary Impairment
The use of carboprost may be associated with bronchospasm, decreased pulmonary blood flow, and/or increased pulmonary arterial pressure. Carboprost induces contraction of smooth muscle, including smooth muscle of the respiratory tract. Therapy with carboprost is contraindicated in patients with active pulmonary disease, and should be administered cautiously in patients with a history of asthma or other pulmonary disorders.
Carboprost (applies to carboprost) renal dysfunction
Major Potential Hazard, High plausibility.
The use of carboprost is contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled or acute renal dysfunction. Carboprost induces contraction of smooth muscle, including smooth muscle of the vascular system. Therapy with carboprost should be administered cautiously in patients with a history of renal dysfunction.
Carboprost (applies to carboprost) anemia
Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility.
The manufacturers recommend to use caution when prescribing carboprost therapy in patients with a history of anemia.
Carboprost (applies to carboprost) diabetes
Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Diabetes Mellitus
The manufacturers recommend to use caution when prescribing carboprost therapy in patients with history of diabetes.
Carboprost (applies to carboprost) epilepsy
Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Seizures
The manufacturers recommend to use caution when prescribing carboprost therapy in patients with a history of epilepsy.

Drug Interaction Classification
Highly clinically significant. Avoid combinations; the risk of the interaction outweighs the benefit.
Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.
Minimally clinically significant. Minimize risk; assess risk and consider an alternative drug, take steps to circumvent the interaction risk and/or institute a monitoring plan.
