Zomig (zolmitriptan) "I really liked Zomig. It always knocked out my migraines. I have had them since puberty. I wasn't prescribed Zomig until about 3 years ago from the VA Hospital. Then they stopped allowing us to get it and changed it to Imitrex. Imitrex takes longer to work."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) "I use the Zomig nasal spray. Out of the 4 or so migraine medicines I've tried (prescription), this is the only one that works for me. It doesn't take too long to kick in, I use it, then after 30 minutes the pain starts to ease some, and I go take a nap, when I wake up, it's gone."

Zomig-ZMT (zolmitriptan) "I have had migraines since childhood. This has been the only medicine that has truly helped. I have to take it early in the headache or it’s not as effective. If I take it during the night I am groggy all day but if I’m already up and doing stuff I don’t get tired and feel better in about a half hour. I do have some sensitivity when I eat something kind of like I am eating something very sour. This medicine has truly changed my life. I have lost jobs and missed so many holidays and family events over the years. I wish I would’ve been prescribed this a long time ago. I use goodrx to get it because insurance stopped paying for it. I actually get more pills for less money now."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) "Unfortunately after taking my first dose of Zomig, I had an allergic reaction to it. Upper lip felt like I was stung by a bee and started to swell up on one side. This stayed in the same location for about 45 minutes. After that, my left cheek started to swell and get numb along with my nose. Off to the ER I had to go. While it DID kick the migraine, I had an unfortunate reaction to it."

"I’ve always had pretty severe chronic mixed tension migraines (more characteristics of tension than migraine) and was on Imitrex for years and it suddenly quit working. Started generic Zomig 2.5mg disintegrating tablets a month ago and they are a miracle! I have absolutely no side effects except feeling slightly slower than usual. Slightly euphoric as well, but no other side effects at all. I do notice they work quicker when taking them like a regular pill versus putting them on your tongue so I just take it with water. I use 8-9 a month and without them, I’m not sure where I’d be!"

Zomig-ZMT (zolmitriptan) "Zomig ZMT works well for me, especially when I take it just as I get the feeling I will get a migraine. All migraine symptoms are gone within 30-45 minutes. My side effects are: *drowsiness (but not so much that I can't function. I just yawn a lot), some neck stiffness, taste sensitivity (the first several bites of food after letting the tablet dissolve cause my tastebuds to feel really funny... sort of a sharp feeling if that makes any sense at all) BUT, those symptoms are a lot better than having a migraine! Zomig (zolmitriptan) "I have been having migraines since I was very young and now 60. I found I couldn't travel anywhere and couldn't go out in the sun. I've have been taking zomig for 4 years and usually it just stops my migraine straight away must admit it has given me my life back . But yesterday while I was driving a long distance it came on quick And zomig didn't work as well, I think I took it to late, when I finaly got home in agony all the side afects started I felt realy ill my throat closed and pain shot around my neck and back. Hopefully this won't happen again."

"I have had migraines since my 20's and took zomig last night for the first time only to wake up like I had RA. My joints to both hands were in so much pain I could hardly get dress or hold a purse. Additionally, my hips were in pain. I do not reccommend this drug to anyone. I know migraines can be debilitating but taking zomig to maybe cause RA or any type of an autoimmune disease is definitely not worth it. I never write any reviews but I found others should be aware of side effects."

"Been on zolmitriptan for 2 years now, these were used in conjunction with a large number of different tablets I was trying to stop my migraines, the other tablets usually taken on a night to prevent migraines coming the following day none worked for me, and the zolmitriptan were then used to prevent the on coming migraine if I felt it coming on. I get the dissolving ones you put on top of the tongue as these get into the system quicker than the normal tablets. These work I'd say 85% of the time for me, I couldn't be without these tablets! The side effects I get each time taking one though is sensitivity to warmth and heat both on my skin...mostly fingers and oddly my mouth and tongue, having a cup of tea after taking these for say 2 hrs after maybe 3 hrs it feels hotter than what it really is. Luckily I am in the UK and prescriptions are £9 each you get 6 per box but because I have to use them often they let me have 12 tablets into 1 prescription so 12 tablets for £9."

"The only migraine medication that has worked for me is this one. Side effects for me personally: Increased urination (paler than usual), skin sensitivity (notice when getting into bath), 'floaty' feeling and feeling a bit weaker than usual. Other than this the headache usually goes within an hour and a half or so. For me it's worth the side effects. This could be coincidence but I'm also mentioning here that I have started to suffer from tinnitus as my ears ring a lot more now (coincidence?) since taking this medication about 7 years ago. Just an observation, as this has never been listed as a side effect."

"The horror of migraine with a pounding headache, the nausea, incessant retching, inability to sleep, sensitivity all over and photo sensitivity were dramatically reduced when I took this 2.5mg tablet. Within 20 minutes a significant decrease in symptoms and finally the ability to sleep and recover from the exhaustion. You will still be incapacitated for the next 24 hours and weak, but this is a miracle drug."

Zomig-ZMT (zolmitriptan) "As far as I know, Zomig is a swallowed tablet and Zomig-ZMT is the orally disintegrating tablet, with a zingy orange flavor. I didn't notice much difference but I imagine the ZMT works faster as it disperses in the mouth. With this abortive, as with many, it works best if you take it 'during onset of migraine'. This is an issue for me because sometimes at onset I'm not sure if it will actually develop into a migraine, so I don't take it and then I am in agony two hours later, even with two doses, which are not/hardly effective since I've missed onset."

"Have had migraines for decades and tried imitrex before but didn't help. I get minor relief from Bayer's Back & Body (aspirin+caffeine pill). Recently asked my doc about trying a different triptan and he suggested zolmitriptan since imitrex didn't help. Next migraine I took 1 Bayer and 1/2 the 5 mg zolmitriptan pill with gatorade. Two hours later my migraine was decreasing instead of increasing but was still in pain so I took the other 1/2 of the 5 mg pill and was surprised to see my migraine decrease until it was gone and I was able to sleep through the night without migrainain pain. Now I take the entire 5 mg at once with bayer and gatorade once I notice symptoms and it decreases my migraines from 24+ hrs of hell to around 6 tolerable hours."

"This drug has changed my life. My migraines used to leave me in pain for days along with vomiting, sensitivity to light etc. the nasal spray works within half hour and usually provides full relief. I cant even believe it- migraine gone. Leaves me w a sore throat but i dont mind it. First couple of times it made me sleepy but i got used to it. Zomig allows me to move on with my life instead of living my life in pain. If you are debating, definitely give this a try!"

Zomig (zolmitriptan) "I was prescribed Zomig by my Neurologist, I have severe headaches. After taking it, it would kick-in in about 30 minutes and the pain would go away. However, after taking sumatriptan instead of this, it wouldn't work as fast as it did before and I had to wait for hours before it would be completely gone. It works great though!"

"Zolmitriptan consistently works for me in stopping a migraine in its tracks and most of the time they don't recur which is fantastic. As with all triptans, it can have some strange and what feel like scary side effects (chest pressure/tightness, muscle cramps and stiffness, dizziness, drowsiness, weird bodily sensations, euphoria, dysphoria, feelings of hot and cold skin) but they are usually transient and short-lived. I've also tried rizatriptan and sumatriptan. The effectiveness is about the same, but for me, zolmitriptan has the fewest of these side effects compared to those. Small price to pay for migraine relief I can count on every time. A low dose of 1.25mg or 2.5mg works for me. I also take an antidepressant (Viibryd) and have not experienced any problems or serious interactions."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) "Zomig is a miracle drug. I get migraines several times a week. I take this at the very first hint of a headache and it aborts the headache. It makes you feel completely normal. The first 45 minutes my heart beats a little fast but that goes away quickly. Highly recommend."

"I've had menstrual migraines since my late teens. I also have an aspirin allergy, so my pain relief was going to urgent care & getting phenergan shots with codeine. The pain didn't stop, it just allowed me to sleep. Then a fellow migraine sufferer told me about zomig. It's a miracle. I take 5 mg as soon as I feel the "migraine feeling" and lay down in a dark room. 2 hours later I take another. I'm good for 24 hours, I can function. Go to work. Run my house, etc. I then take one more, since my migraines are anywhere from 3-4 days. This is the first medicine that actually wipes my migraine out & not just dulls it. My side affects are: dry mouth, fatigue, foggy head, tingling feet & legs. But hey....I'd take those any day over a migraine!"

Zomig (zolmitriptan) "I’m not gonna lie, the side effects can seriously suck... but they’re very temporary. I get a rancid taste in my mouth as well as increased heart rate (which, for someone with a preexisting heart condition, is not ideal) HOWEVER these only happen for maybe a half hour after taking the spray, and for the first time in over ten years I actually have something that not only halts the migraine in its tracks (whether I’m in the aura stage or even in the beginning of a serious attack) but let’s me actually continue on with work and not have to debilitate me to the point of needing to go to bed for the rest of the day. I take this in combination with Zofran, and I feel like a completely new person within an hour of taking it. This is the best."

"An amazing drug Zomitriptan. It clears my headache in 20 mins.I realise how much I need this drug having suffered with Migraine for a 24 hr period. I am doing a tour of the world at age 58 yrs old. I ran out of this drug in Australia. Had to pay over one hundred dollars to see a Dr and pay for two tabs on prescription. I get six tabs a month on a free prescription in Scotland. Missing home."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) "First time trying this medication for my migraines and the experience was horrifying. I did as the pharmacist told me as in when I felt the pain starting to take my first tablet right away. So I did and after about an hour the migraine was getting worse so I waited the 2 hours in order to take my second tablet because the pain was only getting worse for me with some added nausea. Hoping for relief I took the second dose and oh my what a bad idea. After just about 1/2 an hour the pain intensified. My head felt like it was going to burst, my vision was not blurred but if I looked at something it was bobbing. I had to ice my head constantly and anything I laid on felt so hard and made everything hurt. I could barely sleep because the pain was throbbing so bad and was getting even more nauseous. So needless to say I had a terrible night still woke up with a pounding head and will NEVER take another dose of this medication. I will be going to my doctor do a different prescription."

Zomig-ZMT (zolmitriptan) "I've suffered from migraines for over 20 years. Various treatments have worked over the years but lose their effectiveness after certain amount of time. Zomig has helped me tremendously because of the various methods of delivery. I'll take the nasal spray & when that stops working after a few months, I'll switch to the tablets. While this product does work, it sometimes can take a second dose before I get relief. Sometimes, it doesn't work at all. It really depends on how soon I take it. Like someone else said in a previous review, sometimes I don't realize it's going to be a migraine. I do still get regular headaches and using my migraine medicine on those, in my opinion, can be wasteful. Especially at the price you have to pay for it."

Zomig-ZMT (zolmitriptan) "My migraines appear hormonal related, premenopausal in my 40's. If taken at onset Zomig is very effective against my migraines. If taken later it is still effective, but requires another dose within a few hours, as directed, to get the pain under control - HOWEVER if taken then I've had the stiff neck and jaw thing. I do notice that my skin is sensitive to heat after I've taken Zomig and my taste buds are sensitive to some flavors (excessive salivating). It does make me dizzy. I usually break a tablet in half (which I was just reading you're NOT supposed to do, but it doesn't say why), and if I catch the migraine fast enough half is usually enough to deter it. I save the other half for later if the migraine feels like it is returning."

"Usually works well but this time, I'm on my 7th day of a Migraine. I've had migraines the since I was 13. Now 43. My biggest problem is I have Fibromyalgia all day when I have to take it. ..especially more than one time in a 24 hour period. .. I can hardly move. My Body is sensitive to EVERYTHING. Water, Pressure, touch, even pressure from laying in bed or sitting in chair. It is excruciating. I go from a constant daily pain level of an 8 to a 10. It usually lasts about 3 days after I stop taking it. But, Zomig,Relpax,Imitrex,Midrin...all of them do it. I think it is all Triptan Meds. I can't get rid of this for nothing and am violently vomiting and my Body hurts so so bad that I don't know what to do."
