Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I've used Zomig for around 4 years now, if taken as soon as recognise an attack I know that about 90 mins later the pain in head will go, longer if it's into the attack. I have always experienced, drowsiness and hyper sensitivity all over my skin, if I were to have a shower within 5 hours of taking Zomig my whole body feels like it's stinging, hot drinks feel like they are burning my throat, hand washing with hot or warm water is a no no. Also, if I eat within 5 hours it will feel like my taste buds have exploded, excruciating but brief pain. I also still get all the other migraine symptoms, stomach upset, fatigue, very irritable, even with the Zomig but I guess I can function with those things, it's the head pain and sickness that's worst."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I have been taking zomig for a couple of years. It definitely takes my migraines away but my skin and muscle hurt every time. I have to plan showering around it. Today I had a very bad reaction after going on a very brisk 2 mile walk. My face and skin were flush, nauseous and hyper sensitivity to light. Migraine came back w a vengeance. Felt somewhat like heat stroke which isn't possible as it's 70 degrees. Almost went to hospital. Iced my head and rested. Finally feeling better. Note to self.. Do not exert myself on this medication!"

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "Out of the five or so migraine medicines I've tried, Zomig is easily the best. The caveat being you have to take the pill at the onset (as soon as you feel symptoms). If you wait until the migraine is in full swing, it takes much longer for it to work."

For Migraine "I began experiencing migraines in my early teens. By early 20's I had tried almost every medicine made without relief. My migraines are hormone related and predictable. For 3 days during my menstrual cycle and another 3 days during ovulation. Without any relief I would end up in emergency room, miss work and honestly feel like I wanted to die. I couldn't move, I would throw up and nothing would help. I would literally be in bed in a dark room without moving for 3 days every 2 weeks. All I have to say is Thank God for zomig!!! It was life changing. Within 30 to 40 minutes of taking zomig I could resume my normal activities as if the debilitating migraine never existed."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "This is the only medication that will work for my migraines. My family doctor does fear I am taking too much. A lot of things trigger my migraines but I will swear on this particular medication. I have tried everything. Unfortunately the cost is outrageous and the insurance companies do not like paying for it. "

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "Wow. I've just taken a dose (approximately 10 mins), and from not being able to function or see straight or even tolerate the slightest of noises or aural/visual stimulation, to now I can feel 'me' coming back already. and I am AT work! I can type coherently now! A brilliant medicine. I even waited as I need a prescription refill and this was my last dose so I tried keeping it at bay for 24-36 hours with ibuprofen and now its receding like a black cloud lifting. I'm from the US but live in the UK now and would only hope US insurance covers this. I do find migraines can often seem to be 'clusters' as they say, and if 1 in a few months doesn't do the trick 1 a day for a few days works just as well. Amazing, thanks AstraZeneca."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I have been taking Zomjg for Migraine for the past 10 years, I used to suffer for 2 to 3 days with migraine. I was prescribed a lot of different medications, with no success. The first time I took Zomig, it took my migraine away within 30 to 45 minutes. It has just about always taken all my headaches away from then on. Usually one 2.5 dose tablet takes it away. On occasion, I have to take a second dose. It has improved my quality of life greatly. I rarely have side effects also."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I have had migraines since the age of 27. Now 62 and still get them. I have been taking Zomig for the past 10 years and they are the only tablet that have helped me. At first the dosage was 5mg. and was bought down to 2.5mg as the side effects made me feel as though my arms and chest were really heavy and was accompanied by a very dry mouth and was not able to drink anything hot. Sometimes I get very tired the day before the migraine hits and I know its time for a Zomig. I still get these sensations but not all of the time. I pay $36.45 every month 6 tablets, expensive but it works. My only worry now is that after the age of 65 it is not advisable to take them. I wonder what am I going to do?"

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "Zomig has been a miracle for me. I had debilitating migraines for twenty years and had given up on finding anything that would help me. In 1998 a new doctor prescribed Zomig and I have never had another debilitating migraine. When I have health insurance it's great. Without insurance, outrageously expensive, $240 per month. But I am scared to try a different medicine even though my insurance pushes for the change."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I've been taking Zomig for 16 years. 5mg dose is too much and one should eat before taking. It has always eliminated my migraine within 30 minutes. Sometimes I have some muscle soreness and weakness for a short while afterwards. The tradeoff is not a bad one."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I have taken Zomig 2.5 mg for years with good relief and no side effects. Recently after taking it, I've had episodes of severe heartburn not relieved by antacids, Pepto Bismol, or anything else I can think of to take. It eventually leads to nausea. This isn't listed as a common side effect. My doctor was surprised to hear this. Sometimes I still take 1/2 a pill with partial pain relief and no heartburn. I notice the heartburn most when I take Zomig at night and go to bed soon after. I've been mostly relying on Fiorinal with codeine which works most of the time."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I've had migraines for about 10 years. They run in the family, unfortunately. I've tried a lot of other stuff, and also Imitrex. Nothing helped at all with my bad headaches until I was given Zomig by my doctor. I've tried both the ZMT and the regular swallow tablets. To me, they are the miracle pill. Just this morning I had a severe migraine, one of the worst in a while. I was ready to go to the ER, it hurt so bad. I took a Zomig, and about 20 minutes later, I could feel the effects. I took a nap, and woke up without the migraine and was able to come to work today. I still get drowsy during the day, but it beats having the migraine ruin my life."

Zomig-ZMT (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I get relief from Zomig. I can't drink hot drinks like coffee or tea though unless I have lots of milk in it. If I take a shower the water hurts my skin unless I have the temperature very low. I don't know why Zomig gives a sensitivity to hot water & hot drinks. It does clear the headaches. I get tired though."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I would just like to say, it is very important to know what other medications you are taking with this medicine. It can have very bad side effects. I only took this medicine 2 times when I had a very bad interaction. It was before they made it known not to mix an antidepressant with it and it took years to find out what really had happened other than a drug interaction. I was on Paxil at the time, I wound up going to the hospital for them to tell me that everything was fine, but it took about a week before I was feeling normal. My heartbeat was very rapid, I was delusional and uncoordinated. It felt like my inside were burning from the inside out, but yet I felt a constant chill. I am not saying not to take this drug, but be careful."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I was diagnosed with migraines when I was in 3rd grade that's been forever ago since I am now 39. I take Topamax as my daily regimen to help not have them as much. They have tried me on ALL KINDS of medicine to help once I start to get the migraine and almost nothing works and I end up sick for days. The reaction I had to Zomig was the worst thou, I took the pill the first time and my then fiance ran to the store leaving me home with my infant daughter (she's 17 now) when he returned he found me blue & unresponsive on the floor it was a nightmare. I was rushed to the ER and well here I am but clearly it didn't work for me. Now I take Rizatriptan Benzoate self dissolving I have side effects but at least I'm breathing."

Zomig Nasal Spray (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I've been taking zomig since 2017 as I suffer from migraines since I was 15 years old. I am now 32 years old and the attacks have increased and worsened. I've been taking for so many years painkillers but the headache hasn’t stopped. Since I've started on Zomig nasal spray it’s been a life saver for me. If I didn't have the zomig I don’t know what I will do. The headache will disappear within 20 minutes"

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "Not a fan of this medication at all. First it made me nauseous because the taste was so awful dissolving in your mouth. It makes me nauseous just thinking about it. Then it would make me overwhelmingly drowsy. I dreaded taking it. I thought I could get used to taking the medicine like I usually do as I'm not a wimp about these things but couldn't. It didn't work on some of the migraines. Still trying to find what best works for me."

For Cluster Headaches "I have been using the nasal spray for 2 years now. when I first began getting migraines I literally had to stop everything I was doing and go to bed. This brought on anxiety quite significantly, I'd go out and worry constantly that if I got a migraine I wasn't close enough to home and that would ultimately ruin the rest of my day. They impacted on my relationship, work and also my social life because I never wanted to do anything in fear of getting a migraine and needing to be close to my bed and a dark and quiet room. My migraines are gone within 30 minutes with the nasal spray and it really has changed my life. I dread the day my body becomes too used to it and it loses its effectiveness. I can honestly say I've had no adverse side effects from medication that I can notice."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "Thought I was having a stroke as the migraine was the worst I’ve ever had, severe nausea, unbearable pain and rapid heart rate etc. Took a 2.5mg tablet and was able to sleep within 25 mins and when I woke up just over an hour later I felt human again. Did have some shooting pains in chest after 20 mins but as far as side effects go, it’s not the worst. Personally, it’s given me some quality of life back as my migraines are chronic."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "Been taking Zomig for about a year for common migraines (without aura, I think). I never know if a serious migraine is coming on, but Zomig seems to work for it all. I break the 5mg pill in half at first if it's not bad, then take a whole 5mg pill if I wake up to a headache the next day. My headaches used to last 2-5 days switching sides. Imetrex seemed to work but it made my arms and chest feel heavy. Zomig has less side effects and seems to work just as well. I do have a few side effects, but I associate them with relief so they don't really bother me. A pill will put me out and I'll sleep really well, my skin gets sensitive to temperature (showers will sting a little), and as soon as the headache subsides I'll feel a little euphoric."

Zomig (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I havent found any medication that helps with my migraines. Zomig caused me to experience a heat flash which lasted about an hour. Onset of neck stiffness not as bad as prior triptan medications used but still limited activities. Stinging and increased sensitivity in nose, mouth, and throat similar to sinus pressure. Semi-painful. Glands sensitive to taste and makes everything "sour" reaction. Liquid felt in nose and mouth for an hour or so. Bad aftertaste and dizzyness. Had to lay down and take a nap and side effects were still felt 24 hours later."

Zomig-ZMT (zolmitriptan) for Migraine "I Suffered with dreadful Migraine ever since I was around 11 years old, so bad my arm used to be paralysed and speech was severely affected with almost stroke like symptoms, I had so much time off school and also my places of employment in later life and I had to cancel shows, trips out etc.At the age of 57 I was prescribed Zomig and it changed my life, I only need a quarter of a tablet and after 40 minutes I feel fine and the only side effect is a slight sensitivity to hot drinks and hot water which wears off after an hour or so .I can't believe all those years I have suffered and the way Migraine ruled my life. I am 69 years old this year and whilst I feel happy to be cured,I feel I have been robbed of many years."
