"It worked! I've only found relief from triptans, which I can no longer take. I get fewer migraines from Aimovig, but when they come on, this is the only thing that helps. And quick. The side effects are nothing. If you've ever taken sumatriptan nasally, this is a breeze compared to that. Maybe a chemical taste that tastes a bit, but you WON'T have a headache within 10 minutes, and it lasts a very long time. Great option for those who can't find a good one."

"Zavzpret is the only medication I have found that actually helps with my migraine pain. I have tried just about everything else available. Unfortunately, it does leave a terrible taste in your mouth for about a day, and it gave my throat a burning sensation that lasted a few hours. Sucking on a mint or candy helps. I have migraines that can last 2-3 weeks, so it's worth the side effects to get relief."

"I've been on Zavzpret the last 5 months as a rescue medication, in addition to my preventative Botox and monthly Ajovy. It works pretty well as an abortive for migraines, however, that's only if you can stomach the god-awful taste that drips down your throat after administering. As I commonly get nausea with my migraines, it is difficult, but I am usually able to power through without vomiting. The taste lasts for at least 30 minutes, and I usually start seeing some relief 2-4 hours later. Definitely worth a try if other abortives have failed you. But if you can find something less disgusting that also works, I would go with that."

"The first time I used it it took my headache from a 6 down to a 2 in about 30 minutes and my headache stayed at a 2 for approx. 2 days. The second time I used it I did not get as much relief or for as long a time. Another headache doctor prescribed it for me and I had the same result as the first use. I have not used the second one as I found out that my insurance does not cover the medication and it costs over $1,000 which I cannot afford on disability. Waiting to use until I absolutely need it."

"I have recently tried Zavzpret and I have to say it is a game changer for me. I get samples from my doctor (neurologist) because my insurance refuses to pay for it. The cost is totally outrageous $5,000 for one month supply (4 doses) which totally sucks! The one medication that will work for me I can't afford. I had gastric bypass surgery back in 2011 so any oral medication does not work for me, but this nasal spray works great! Tastes nasty going down the back of the throat but I'll take it to get rid of the migraine!"

"I’ve used this med about 7-8 times in the past months. It has worked about 60% of the time for me. It’s tricky because you need to use this medication within the first two hours of a migraine, and mine are often already at their worst when I first wake up, and it’s often too late to take. The taste after using is horrible, and it lasts for a good hour after using it. If this med doesn’t eliminate all of the migraine, it will circle back later and escalate again. When it does work, it is gone within 5-15 minutes."

"I used it for the first time this morning. While it has been effective for my migraine, it has caused me discomfort/burning in my sinuses. The bitter aftertaste/sensation is also unpleasant. Yes it is great that the migraine is relieved, but the adverse reaction has equally impacted my day when I could have used an alternative medication I know works and had no adverse reaction."

"I was given this as a sample when I presented with a migraine that had been hanging on for 2 days. I inhaled when I released the med. The first thing I noticed was the medicinal taste in the back of my throat (like trying to take a pill but it gets stuck). After that, a slight burning feeling in my nose and a sensation like I wanted to sneeze. After about 30 minutes, only a slight bit of relief. There is a feeling of nausea similar to post-nasal drip. I want to blow my nose, but since it is a nasal med, I am trying to avoid that. The medicinal taste lessened after I rinsed my mouth, leaving a bit of a scratchy throat. I feel like I will be one of those 2-hour relief people."

"Had a mild migraine and decided to try Zavzpret. Followed the instructions and about 5 minutes later started getting a terrible taste in my mouth, to the point it was making me gag. I've brushed my teeth and eaten strong mints and ginger chews to try to get rid of the taste. It has not yet gone away and it's been about 30 minutes. The positive is I think my migraine is mostly gone and it's only been about 30 minutes. Unsure whether I will use it again considering the horrible taste. If my migraine was further progressed, it probably would have triggered vomiting. So those of you that have nausea with migraines, keep this in mind."
