Valacyclovir "I am on a regimen program of Valtrex and I take 4 tablets on the onset of fever blister of the lips, then 4 tablets 12 hours later. Then, my doctor prescribed 1 Valtrex daily forever. It's well worth it. I have not had any breakouts since my doctor put me on this prevention program. I highly recommend Valtrex and am well satisfied with the results."

Valacyclovir "I caught genital herpes from my ex-wife in 2015, she never told me about the virus. I had it for 2 years with so many outbreaks, and it affected my life. People think herpes is really a minor skin irritation, but herpes has long-term effects on health. The stigma attached to this virus by ignorant people is ridiculous. Most people have herpes in one form or another. I was first taking antiviral medicines, such as acyclovir (Zovirax), famciclovir (Famvir), and valacyclovir (Valtrex), which are recommended for treating primary genital herpes outbreaks. This medicine can be taken when an outbreak occurs. It can also be taken every day to help prevent outbreaks. It is not a total cure, but it sure helps."

"I was diagnosed with HSV 1 and 2. I was so angry when my doctor called me to tell me why I was having a vaginal problem. I confronted my husband, who I found out was cheating on me. He swore he had not been cheating. I asked him to go be tested, and he refused. I can truly, truly, truly say that valacyclovir has been and is a tremendous medication for HSV 1 and 2. I take 500 mg 2 times a day. I have had 1 flare-up, and it was worse than having the chickenpox. Let us all stay strong and pray for each other daily."

"Valtrex is necessary for profound relief from herpes outbreaks, either facial or genital. Obtain a renewable prescription to have at the first indication of an outbreak. This is vital; it may be days until you could obtain the medicine. Start at that first lip tingle, a sensitive facial swelling with no injury as a reason, a slight discomfort from a swollen gland, usually in the neck area, or any redness/slight fullness in the genital area. IMMEDIATELY begin the regimen as prescribed. I personally take 5-500 MG pills daily for 3-4 days. This vastly reduces the outbreak's severity/duration. An untreated outbreak may last up to 2 1/2 weeks; my experiences are 5-6 days until complete remission, with greatly reduced pain and very small sores. Have the virus for 40 years; 8 years ago outbreaks increased; was prescribed valacyclovir as a preventive, one 500 MG pill daily. This has reduced outbreaks to one in an 18-month period. Don't hesitate to speak with your physician."

Valacyclovir "It's well worth it to ask your doctor to prescribe 1 gm daily Valtrex for recurring cold sores. You can easily take from your daily prescribed to help immediately when you notice a cold sore start by then taking 1 gm 3 times in 24 hours. The prescription for 3 pills costs the same as 30 days, so I recommend talking to your doctor."

Valacyclovir "This is my 3rd day on Valtrex for HSV-2, and I started experiencing symptoms Friday, such as soreness, itchiness, and what felt like razor burns. I went to the ER that Sunday because I felt I may have been exposed to an STD since I experienced Chlamydia before and similar symptoms. So, after the visual examination, I was prescribed Valtrex 1g 2x a day, and I have been on it since Sunday. It is now Tuesday, and I still have soreness and can barely walk. The meds are working slowly but surely."

Valacyclovir "I was infected with HSV-2 about two weeks ago in the genital area, pubic area to be exact. Only took 2 days before typical symptoms showed, but I waited 4 days before going to the ER, thinking the OB was folliculitis. I was prescribed Valtrex 1 g 2 times a day for ten days. After 2.5 days, I noticed that the herpes stopped spreading and the pain was gone. After 5 days, it was already healing/drying up. After 10 days, it is almost completely healed, with a few scabs left. This drug is very effective, but you have to take it on time every 12 hours or as instructed by your doctor. Side effects were fatigue, dry skin, dry eyes/slight redness at times, mood swings, hives, and sleeplessness."
