For Chronic Pain "Ultram has worked well for the multiple chronic pain issues I have and has allowed me to function, though the cervical/lumber problems are becoming worse. If not for Ultram, I would be housebound and unable to move. Unfortunately, a new doctor, without reason, reduced the script, which has resulted in my pain increasing and being unable to sometimes walk. I did further research and found the DEA final report that clearly states that doctors should not decrease or stop this medication for chronic pain. They were quick to prescribe gabapentin, which is one of the worst drugs taken, within 36 hours, I had a severe adverse event. I filed an adverse event complaint with the FDA and also had my pharmacy redline the drug so it would not be prescribed again. Read the information on medications you are taking or a doctor suggests you take before you pay for it. Sometimes the negative effects are worse than the health problem you have."

For Back Pain "I have a degenerated disc and arthritis in my back. At first, the pain was intense and I couldn't sleep. My doctor prescribed Vicodin, but that made me feel drunk and I couldn't function. I take Ultram 50mgs every 4 hours. At first, I took them only when I was in pain. But I realized through articles that taking it when the pain starts is not as effective. I now sleep pretty well, before, I couldn't sleep and I was like a zombie. I experience little side effects. After 4 hours, I get a little air-headed. I've been on it for about a month, trying to determine if I need it as I have been taking it every 4 hours, pain or not. I'm pleased that I have a lot less pain and can function."

For Chronic Pain "I have chronic back pain. I have degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis. The pain is unbearable at times. My doctor prescribed tramadol for me. It has been a lifesaver for me. This drug has given my life back. It takes my pain away for a few hours so I can do some house cleaning. It is amazing. Please always follow your doctor's directions when taking this drug."

For Pain "I had arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery on February 25, 2013, and my surgeon prescribed me 10mg Vicodin 6 times per day. After 4 weeks and 'wanting to get me off of narcotics,' he changed my prescription to 50mg Tramadol 4 times a day. Honestly, I believe that I am now receiving 1/10 of the relief from pain that the Vicodin was providing."

For Pain "I started taking Tramadol about 3 months ago for chronic pain in my knee, hips, and especially my lower back due to over 26 years in the military. It allows me to be relatively free from pain and capable of doing things around my yard. I have experienced no side effects. If I stop taking it for a couple of days, the pain returns. Before taking Tramadol, I was limited to 15 to 30 minutes of work, and then I would be done for a couple of days to recuperate."

For Pain "Ultram is the only medication I can take for pain that doesn't make me sick. Lortab, Norco, etc. all make me sick at my stomach. Darvocet used to be what I preferred as it didn't make me feel sick, hate that it was taken off the market. But after hand surgery and being prescribed Ultram, it's nice to know there is a pain medication out there that works and doesn't make me throw up. Highly recommend."

For Chronic Pain "Ultram (brand) has made my life bearable. I suffer from fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and osteoporosis. I have lessened pain if I take Ultram (brand). Tramadol, the generic, does nothing to lessen the pain. My rheumatologist said many of his patients are not helped with Tramadol. It is not even the same formulation. Ripoff."

For Pain "I have been taking Ultram (brand) for 7 years for the management of chronic neuropathy pain in my arms, legs, hands, and feet, and I wouldn't change it for anything. Non-addictive, effective 90% of the time, it's a rare day when the pain exceeds the drug's ability to control it. Yes, there is some occasional residual background discomfort; with chronic pain that's to be expected. However, as long as I can function normally without a lot of adverse side effects and addiction, I'm a happy camper. Please note this is for the brand Ultram. I had serious issues with the generic (with the fillers, I think), and do not recommend generic at all."

For Pain "I have been using this for almost a year now for peripheral neuropathy pain. This, along with Lyrica and Pamelor, have finally made it possible to live with somewhat normal levels of pain. Don't want to be without it."

For Chronic Pain "I suffer from chronic back pain due to lumbar spinal decay and facet joint arthrosis. I have been taking tramadol (50mg) for quite some time. I know what the pain feels like when I don't take it (excruciating!) and taking it regularly-3 to 4 times a day-along with others allows me to function reasonably normally. I get a dry mouth at times, and this is expected. I couldn't live without it."

For Back Pain "I'm only 26 years old and have been suffering from chronic back pain for 6 years (due to a fall). I haven't gotten much help from all the doctors I've had. They all treated me like an addict because I'm so young. Anyway, my new doctor has given me 50mg of Ultram but only a 15-day supply. I wish I could have it every day, but the risk of addiction is not worth it. I am super grateful I get 15 days of relief a month. It has helped me be my happy-go-lucky self. I recommend it."

For Pain "Ultram has worked significantly for me to relieve extreme post (2 yrs) shoulder surgery. I have received excellent return of motion but continue to have 24/7 pain. Over-the-counter medicines have not worked. Ultram has given a relief that allows up to eight hours of pain-free sleep. I use 100 mg each evening at bedtime."

For Chronic Pain "I have been on Ultram for 15 years. I started with 150 mg a day, and I am up to 350 mg daily. If I do not take it every 5-6 hours, I start feeling sleepy and irritable. Worst of all, my pain comes back twofold. I cannot stand up straight due to the severe pain and weakness in both my legs. I had a lumbar fusion that has left me with neurological leg weakness and SI joint pain. I have severe DJD and arthritis. I was recently changed to a generic type of Ultram. I feel like I am in withdrawal all the time. How do I get my pharmacy to replace this generic garbage?"

For Pain "I have taken Tramadol for a year and have found it very helpful with my body pain, especially my back pain. I usually have to take ONE 50 mg of the pill, and that really helps. There are many days that I may NOT have to take it. I don't find it addicting at all. I take it only if I really need it. My prescription says to take it 4 times a day. I would never do that. It helps with only one. It can be constipating, and that is why I only take one to give me a lot of relief. I take it now with a stool softener. I am sorry if people find it addictive, but I don't feel that at all. Perhaps they are taking 4 a day. I do not plan on dropping this pill for my pain any time soon."

For Pain "My neck joints were injured in a car crash 5 yrs ago causing chronic pain. After 15 months of misery and narcotic pain relievers, my doctor prescribed Ultram. It helps make my life bearable with NO side effects. Surprised to read other users say 'most' get feelings of euphoria as that has never happened to me or anyone in my pain support group."

For Fibromyalgia "My rheumatologist started me on Ultram a few weeks ago. I also take Zoloft. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia approximately 10 years ago and have tried several medicines. My rheumatologist was concerned about my long-term use of Tylenol and Advil on my kidneys and liver and said this would be easier on my body. It has helped a lot. I have much more energy and much reduced pain. It helps me go to work regularly and have a life with my family, but if I miss a dose, I am really moody and weepy, so everyone knows when I haven't had it. I like it so far."

For Pain "I've recently gone off Lortab and have started taking Ultram. Initially, I was worried about the side effects and with Lortab withdrawal (I have bursitis and a frozen shoulder). Well, this medicine works far better for my shoulder and back pain overall, everyone can tell the difference in me. I, too, can't be without it. They are now talking about surgery next month. So, we will see."

For Pain "I have been on Ultram for 8 years and it has made my life bearable. I have many spinal problems: Ankylosing spondylitis, slipped discs, bambooing vertebrae, degeneration. I've been through eight surgeons, no one could do anything practical but exploratory butchering. They were honest, not wanting to play with it. This drug has been a lifesaver for me. No side effects. It even helps with tooth pain. I only need 1-2 pills per day and only use it as a cushion, not every day, and only if I have an active day. No withdrawals at all."

For Pain "I fell at work on my knees and have had severe pain ever since. I have been using 50 mg Ultram (Tramadol) for about 3 months, and I can honestly say that I am able to function at work and during my daily life. I have been on hydrocodone and Lortab, and both of these medicines make me sleepy and just out of it all day. Ultram helps me quite well, but after 5-6 hours, I am ready to take another one. Dosage is 3 times per day/every 6-8 hours. My family is happy, and so am I. I would recommend this medicine, it truly works."

For Fibromyalgia "I have been using Ultram (tramadol) for over 8 years for my fibromyalgia pain. I started on it for a shoulder and neck injury, and it worked so great that I have been able to stay on it. In those 8 years, I have actually lowered my dose by less than half and get through a day on 75 mg. It keeps me working. I cannot take it late in the day or it keeps me from sleeping well. If you are in pain, on moderate to bad days, I suggest you try it in moderate levels. It will not help for headaches for me. Stopping taking it will produce withdrawal symptoms after some time. Be prepared to go through a miserable, cranky day. Good luck, and feel well."

For Pain "Contrary to what I've read on some forums, this is NOT a strong NSAID. It is a pain medicine (read the insert). It works partially by working on the opiate receptors in the brain. You may feel a teeny tiny bit euphoric the first time. That said, I found it very good for moderate to moderately severe spinal degeneration pain and have been prescribed this for a few years. I take it in addition to an NSAID, arthritis strength Tylenol, and muscle relaxants (as needed) but this was a Godsend for a long time. The limit is 400mg a day."
