"I do agree this medicine is good but I have stumbled upon a problem. I started taking this medicine about 6 years ago for leg cramps. I am diabetic and it was very difficult for me to sleep. So, I started on the 4mg 3x daily. I could not take it and work in the daytime so I only took it at night. ER physician said to up the dosage amount of this drug to 2 tablets 3 x a day. So, through the years to keep from hurting the dosage has been increased and now taking 4 at night. When I try not to take them my heart races and blood pressure is sky high. I ran a normal low but without this drug my heart goes crazy."

For Muscle Spasm "I took Zanaflex 4mg about a year ago, and it was giving me hallucinations and then knocking me out. I stopped taking it. My muscle spasms are getting worse and they had me on Flexeril, but it did nothing at all. So now I'm going to be starting on 2mg Zanaflex to see if a lower dose has fewer scary side effects."

For Muscle Spasm "It helped me sleep but it made me dizzy and my thinking was off. It also made me nauseated. I was hurting so bad I actually took it 4 times in about 48 hrs even with the nausea. I was still feeling really off 36 hrs after the last dose and would not have trusted my judgement at work. My brain not feeling right was much more concerning to me than the nausea. I have taken flexeril in the past but I have never felt like this."

For Muscle Spasm "I developed some symptoms and found out I was in premenopause. One of those symptoms was terrible muscle tension. My Dr prescribed me tizanidine 4mg twice a day for two weeks. It helped a lot but it made me so sleepy. I couldn't take it any longer than two weeks because I also take psychiatric medication and it interferes. I got hormones from my ob/gyn to help with everything."

For Muscle Spasm "I've been on Zanaflex for about 2 weeks. I have a herniated disk. This helps a bit. I just wish that the side wasn't drowsy. I can only take it when I'm at home. Which defeats the purpose, I need it during the day. Other than that it's fine. Makes me sleep so well."

For Muscle Spasm "I have thoracic kyphosis starting, on top of needing a hip replacement, so my spasms are unreal to the point where I cannot breathe. Zanaflex is absolutely astounding in helping me break the spasms. Zanaflex knocks me out, though, so I cannot work or drive when taking it."
