"I've never experienced any type of side effects of yeast infection medications until I bought this Monistat 1 day. OMG!!!! The burning is unbearable. It's been almost 2 days and I'm still burning. I'll just have to bear it until the effects are gone. UGH!!! Don't do it ladies!!!!"

"I have had yeasts infections quite a few times! I have always used Monistat 1. The first time I used it I freaked out my whole family I was screaming and crying. Telling them to "Make it stop!" And I've used it a couple times since then and it has been completely fine with no burning. I'm using it tonight and feel like I'm dying again! It always works and clears it up but be prepared for the worst pain for a few hours!"

"Y'all. Okay. So I tried this about a year and a half ago and it was awful. But I forgot about that and bought it again today and didn't remember my last experience until my best friend said something after I had already inserted this little egg from the pits of hell. I was fine for the first 3 hours so I thought I was in the clear. Took a shower. Dried off. Then felt a little itchy so I decided to apply the external cream before going to bed. Apparently this cream is the detonator. Cue the most severe burning, itching, and tingling of my life. Scooped out what I could with a cold towel. Also, do NOT get any on your back end hole because that will burn too. Currently cooling off in front of my fan. Never again."

"I used the Monistat 7 and it worked perfectly for me in the past, but I'm going on vacation soon so I chose the one dose. So I guess it needed to get worse before it could get better. I had the same symptoms, itchy redness for 2 days, but I also read it could take a few days to work. So I kept applying the small tube of cream when it felt horrible and I didn't want to start overdosing with more medicine of Monistat 7. So I waited it out. Day 3 I felt so much better and happier. This product gets bad reviews but no matter what yeast infections suck and take a while to get over no matter what. So it may hurt now but just wait it out and read the instructions."

"To be clear, my review is for the ovule, not the applicator. The ovule should be banished back to the hell from which it came. The ovule contains 1200 mg of the anti fungal; compared to 300 mgs for the 1-day applicator, 200 mgs for the 3 day, and 100 mgs for the 7 day. Whoever had the bright idea to up the acceptable dosage 4-12 times deserves to be shot. If you take this product your vagina will burn with the fire of a thousand suns and leave you trying to cool everything down with ice cubes and either running to the gyno or crying in your bathroom while trying to scrape out this horrible horrible product from your now swollen, raw vagina. You will not, as advertised, be working, because it's hard to work when your vag is molten. DO NOT BUY!!"

"I had a yeast infection for a couple of months. Like most people I thought I would go away on its own, but it didn't. I finally decided to order monistat 1 day. But once I received it, I got scared to use it because of all the negative reviews. I was scared of the intese burning! So I put it off for 2 weeks. Finally, I knew I had to use the product or the infection will never go away. I used it on a Monday morning. I waited for that intese burning/pain that others had mentioned, but it never happened. I was so thankful. Only bad thing, there was a lot of discharge. Other than that i was fine. I felt better immediately, but it took about 2 weeks for it to completely go away. I definitely recommend this product!"

"I had a yeast infection for about 3 days last week. I knew I needed to do something. I purchased the 1 day treatment with the day and night time option. I inserted the medication on my lunch at work with out using the cream or wipes. I then started reading reviews which freaked me out and I got so scared. Nothing happened for a few hours then there was a slight burning sensation. Nothing horrible. Some of the medication came out on the pad I was wearing, and the uncomfortableness lasted the rest of the night. I woke up fine and the yeast infection was gone. Worked for me, and will use this again."

"i purchased monistat 1 day, max strength. came with ovule + applicator, cream, and cooling wipes. unfortunately i was one of the unlucky ones who didn't read the reviews before using. every 1 star review is accurate - hellish burning, extreme discomfort, feels like satan has taken residence on your vagina, etc. it wasn't until i removed about half of the cream that i felt a little better. the cream seems to make the sensation worse. the only thing that worked on the package are the cooling wipes. sad. not even sure if in the end, my yi will be treated."

"My mom told me to try this to help my infection. I had no problem putting it in, it was just like a tampon. Everything was fine for the first hour maybe 2 hours but suddenly it has become so uncomfortably painful and itchy. I don't know how to make it stop!! :( I hope it ends up being worth this. (honestly the yeast infection wasn't this bad)"

"OMG my vagina is on fire!!!!! I just put the 1-Day Maximum Strength Treatment Miconazole. I am really regretting putting it on. I can't sleep it burns so bad. I was reading some of the review and people seem to suggest that the cream is what makes it worse but Idk. I just went to the bathroom to wipe it off with the cooling wipes and that stuff burns so bad. I just finished putting A&D ointment, I really hope that helps. But as of right now, I AM DYING!!!!!!"

"Had a UTI then then antibiotics made it itch and twitch and overall uncomfortable. Once I realized I had a YI due to antibiotics I tried Monistat 1 for quick results. Absolutely no concerns. I got the pack with the cream and wipes. Love the cream for the outside to minimize the YI itching. Ovule is messier than I realizes. Within 24hours of using i feel 100% better. Would use again."

"I haven't had a YI in years but my diet is off, stress levels are up with my new job, house, etc. So I concluded I had a mild yeast infection whic I caught immediately bc I am a keen lister to my body. I say that because there was some discomfort. Anyway, I took Monistat 1 extra strength. There was in increase in my discomfort with slight burning but no itching at all. I purchased yogurt and drank water. I went to sleep. Next day, I was relieved. Honestly, it worked for me. No burning, swelling, or itching, praise Yah! If I had read the reviews I may not have bought this product. I'm sorry about the experience of others. However, I would use this product again. I hated to spend $22 but in the end the relief was worth it"

"I caught my yeast infection really early and decided to do a one day treatment but couldn’t find my usual brand, Equate, so I decided to use monistat. 30 mins after applying the ovule and cream I was in immense discomfort and was literally crying. I used a cold compress but that wasn’t working either. I ended up taking a shower and trying to wash it all out after reading some reviews. Now sitting here with ice pack between my legs I still have extreme discomfort and even more extreme swelling. My advice is never use any Monistat products and stick to the cheaper choice which is Equate."

"I must say reading all the comments it's not a good feeling at all yes it burns n itch but I'm guessing cause it working will I try it again yes maybe cause I rather go through pain for a day than use creams but I must say it is messing my first time using this and I would recommend it to a friend ;-)"

"I have used Monistat 1 many times and it's worked fantastically! I used it today at 3:45 and by 6:30 I was on FIRE! By 8:00 I swear battery acid would have felt better than this burning that I was experiencing. I have a very high pain tolerance. And this burning, stinging, chemical burning I was feeling is far beyond any pain tolerable level. I was sweating, shaking, light headed and had goosebumps I was in so much pain not to mention I was also bleeding from this. I have used this product in the past and have had no issues. In fact, it worked great. But this time... I will NEVER EVER use it again. It's 12:am now, and the pain experience had subsided maybe a notch. It's going to be a long night..."

"DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE WITH THIS PRODUCT!! I got a yeast infection after a round of antibiotics. I had only mild symptoms for about 4 days before I decided to treat. The only reason I treated was because I am about to be super busy at work and wanted to feel my best. I chose the 1 day treatment because why treat for 7 days what you can treat in 1? Big mistake. I inserted the ovule, no problem. As soon as I put in the "itch relief" cream, the itching and irritation increased 1000%! I feel so much worse then I did before this treatment. It's ironic that the treatment I used so I could be my best at work will probably make me actually miss a day at work. The discomfort is almost unbearable."

"I am 18 years old and started having a yeast infection so I took monistat one without looking at the reviews. I applied it at night but when I woke my vagina swelled to three times its size and I had an unbearable itch and burn. The MOST PAINFUL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I quickly rushed to the emergency room were they had to flush the medicine out of me and they prescribed me on steroids. I will never recommend Monistat to anyone especially after all the horror stories I have seen online. Please DO NOT use this medicine go to the doctor were they will prescribe you a pill it will make life so much easier!!!!"

"I had been prescribed antibiotics and unfortunately had a YI within just a few days. I did lots of research but wanted it to go away as quickly as possible. I bought the Monistat 1 day and inserted it as I was getting ready for bed. As soon as I laid down I was reading reviews and immediately was so scared with the terribly painful reviews that some have posted, that I couldn't sleep with the anticipation of pain I was about to feel. I stayed awake for four hours and felt no pain, for about 20 minutes I felt a little bit uncomfortable but nothing close to what was explained on here. I guess everyone handles pain differently, but it did the job and by the second day, I was all better."

"I’ve read the reviews and I have used this product before. Now to clarify I am a pretty impatient person so I decided to use the monistat 1. I’ve had the burning and itchiness but I also realize that this compared to the three or seven it is more concentrated. It sucks that it will cause that burning but after clearing away the initial discharge there was only a burning and the itching was at a minimum. Just be aware that this is more concentrated so there will be a stronger reaction. If you can handle the strength you’ll be fine if not I would use the 7 day or go talk to your gynecologist."

"Terrible experience. My doctor said the 1 dose is so powerful it can give you chemical burn. It wrecked my vacation and it has been 8 days and it still burns. Dr even gave me pain meds. Do NOT use this. Only use the 3 to 7 days pack. I can't believe this is on the market."

"I took a plan b last week and plan b is known for throwing your ph balance off so I caught a yeast infection . My vagina felt very raw and I kept a cold towel down there to numb the pain . I took Monistat 1 because that's what the CVS pharmist perscribed . This YI was so unbearable and what made it worst is I'm on my period . I inserted the egg and put the cream everywhere . I barely want to walk ,talk , eat or do anything . My vagina is so sad right now it burns it itches .. I just need relief of this uncomfortable pain"

"I've used Monistat 7 & 3 before. Never had any intense pain or swelling after applying them. But really, who has time for that, especially when there is a fancy 1 day application. Remember if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Don't get me wrong, it works, you'll just be battling the fires of hell of your vagina most of the day. I used the 1 day last night and all was good. I went to bed and slept for 5 peaceful hours. The pain actually woke me up, intense burning and really swollen. Took a bath and felt a little better. About 1 hr later intense pain and the little bottle of devils cream they give you sucks . I researched home remedies for burning and found applying yogurt helps. Desperate and in agony I found myself spooning yogurt on my lady parts. It did bring relief but only for a bit. Swollen and burning I decided to try ice. Get a bowl of ice and find somewhere to lay down and relax, you are going to need to be relaxed for this. I gradually iced it... At first the only thing I could do was remind myself to breath. Honestly, it's sucks, but it feels really good when you go numb. It was absolutely worth the first 5 mins. I noticed my swelling go down and my pain eased significantly. Monistat 1 is very effective but it depends if you want a fire vagina for part of the day. I'm still torn if I'll ever use it again. It did make me feel much better but there are a couple hours of intense pain after applying."

"Omg....the pain!!!!! I was put on antibiotic. For pneumonia and bronchitis and ended up with a YI... so i got the one day treatment got $24, at 830pm I popped it in by 9:53pm I was in so much pain , it burned so bad and still is burning. Its now 11:33pm it burns so bad im in tears baling... and I am contemplating removing my shower head from the hose to flush it out. I am in tears and afraid to move. With the slightest shift I feel like I am re-lighting the torch inside me. Do not do this treatment....and these people who say they hardly feel a thing.... yeah they have vaginas cloned from superman DNA... i would rather do natural no pain meds child birth again before doing this treatment again!"

"So I made an account here just to write a review on this product. Before taking this I had already heard some bad things but I decided to go ahead and try it anyway. Once I already inserted the product I started reading more reviews and literally went into a PANIC because of how bad people were saying this was. After about an hour, I felt a little tingly/irritation down there, but it wasn't painful, just a little annoying and uncomfortable. The second I felt that, I took two tylenol extra strength, just in case this feeling started getting worse. I'm not sure if they prevented any pain or if the product just didn't get worse, but I wasn't in pain at all while using this. Maybe I'm lucky or maybe the tylenol helped. Don't be scared of using this product because of all the reviews, there are plenty of people like me who are fine and probably don't take the time to review it as they have happily moved on with their lives (pain, burn and itch free)!"

"DOOOO NOT, I REPEAT DOOOO NOT USE THIS ACID BALL!!! Oh JESUUUUUS!!! For the few thats saying "I didn't feel anything" well maybe just maybe YOU ALL DIDN'T HAVE AN YEAST INFECTION!! It is entirely toooo many women on here with the same intense stories. This is my VERY FIRST YEAST INFECTION and I believe it's from my new bottle of fragrance liquid soap. Ok I wasn't thinking, shame on me HOWEVER I was told that this product was the answer to my itching. Now they didn't tell me about numbers. So I picked up the only one that was on the shelf which happened to be no.1 lets just say I'd rather push out triplets the natural way with NO meds. It felt as if I inserted an opened ghost pepper inside my vagina. A MAN HAD TO HAVE DESIGN THIS PILL!!"
